I havent read the books, I should though. I dont think its Dr. Halsley, simply because of the "light with the will to create me"

Poem

I found something interesting from wikipedia, maybe someone should check it out

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poetry_analysis

This is what I found on wikipedia:

Quote:
Poems may be read silently to oneself, or may be read aloud solo or to other people. Although reading aloud to oneself raises eyebrows in many circles, few people find it surprising in the case of poetry.

In fact, many poems reveal themselves fully only when they are read aloud. The characteristics of such poems include (but are not limited to) a strong narrative, regular poetic meter, simple content and simple form. At the same time, many poems that read well aloud have none of these characteristics (for example, T. S. Eliot's "Journey of the Magi")

I think Modus has taken our attention
This is the key...

(I will speak in theory mode)
guys and gals... I think Modus has taken too much of our attention. here is a link for what needs to be done. I'm no english major spelling is where i'm at(not typing) but anyways I know the syllables have been decoded and what not but I think they're wrong. Not flamin anyone either I'm just saying we need to look at them again. There are 19 lines, we need 10 digits for an IP. look at the way the poem is written, here is a link for my hypothesis,
http://webs.ashlandctc.org/jnapora/hum-faculty/syllabi/wheelbarrow2.htm

read through there, this is about Pyrrhic poems. the term is mentioned in the poem for a reason. I'm thinking a few lines have no syllables and if they do we need to filter out the numbers we don't need. or we could just wait for another clue.

Note, A Pyrrhic Victory is a victory that comes at too high a price. That seems like an excellent definition of the HALOs, doesnt it...

Yeah, i could see the CQB being a tank and the EVA being the ninja. I was hoping they would incorporate a Shadowrun like system, where you had the big, strong, but slow char (Hunters or Brutes) the small, weak, but lethal chars (Jackals and Grunts) and then the Elites and Humans.

Why would you ever hope or wish that upon Halo? It would absolutely ruin the game.

may be onto something

If anyone recalls, during the marathon games, there were the Cortana Letters. Read about them in their entirety HERE

In one of the previous posts, the poet T.S. Elliot was mentioned, and was said to have phyrric-based poems. Im finding this a VERY strange coincidence, because T.S. Elliot has been used before in bungie's games.

In one Cortana Letter, Cortana writes "Oh, and your poet Eliot had it all wrong:
THIS is the way the world ends."
This is in reference to T.S. Elliot's poem: "The Hollow Men" Where he writes:

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

This means that Cortana knows the world is going to end with a bang Twisted Evil

Sidenote: All of the cortana letters were written pre-halo 1, but that doesnt mean that they can be disregarded. The fact that they built the character cortana THEN and then used it NOW shows that.
This also raises my curiosity as to what else bungie may have put in the remake of Marathon: Durandal.

Thoughts?

Bungie weren't the ones to develop the new Marathon game. Yeah, Cortana also references Elliot at the end of the E3 2006 trailer, "This is the way the world ends."

Also, Bungie has said that the Cortana letters are out of canon for the most part.

I have a whole bunch of theories for new gameplay modes. Just to add a sort of battle-like touch to some multiplayer modes. Dont get me wrong, I love the Halo system. But I guess I didnt imply that it would be an alternate gameplay option, like Zombies.
So basically. We have our normal modes, then a shadowrun style mode. I liked Shadow Run =(

They've said that they're non-canonical except for the parts which they re-use now (ie. in the Halo 3 teaser trailers and the ARG) from what I remember, so it wouldn't pay to disregard them on that score.
