All the sites that are known so far are posted on the wiki . You may need to scroll down.

I jokingly asked how many times I can point people to the despoiler.org wiki for this game -but this is ridiculous. All the answers are on there. Just look under known sites.

If you want hints...not sure what to tell you.

GJ controversy

I think you unfiction people are wonderful.

I am less interested in doing the Golden Jigsaw, than in watching what is happening here.

The wiki is a magnificent creation and I am going to be watching the new despoiler.org site closely. I thought the ARGnet article was fascinating, and very much enjoyed vpisteve's blog about the Golden Jigsaw.

Keep up the good work.

PS. I'd love it if a moderator could embed links into this post, to the sites mentioned.
I have registered with unfiction, but my confirmation email seems to have gone astray, so I am still a guest.

Edit: Links added as requested. Please email unforumSPLATunfiction.com from the account with which you registered and we'll activate your username. Cheers, SpaceBass

oh my bad - I think they have managed to sell 66 pieces - not 76 as I originally posted. So they only have, let's see 1,000 - 66 = 934 to go.

I would love it if someone could make a countdown clock on the wiki. Actually from this page we can countdown the pieces they have left to sell and add up how much they've sold at the same time.

Woo. Another project.

10 pieces (row 1) at $120 each = $1200

10 pieces (row 2) at $240 each = $2400

10 pieces (row 3) at $360 each = $3600

10 pieces (row 4) at $480 each = $4800

10 pieces (row 5) at $600 each = $6000

10 pieces (row 6) at $720 each = $7200

6 pieces (row 7) at $840 each = $5040

Total of 66 pieces =$30240

(check my math, I'm not great at it) If I'm right, so far the prize is worth $15,120

We got a long way to a million folks.

So, tell me again, how do they get away with advertising a prize of $1,000,000 on the front page of the site? Isn't two orders of magnitude off a problem?

If I could make a suggestion for them, maybe they would be better off trying to sell pieces instead of harassing players and potential customers of their advertisers. Just a thought.

If I had time for another project, I think emailing their existing sponsors and complaining about (what I see as) dishonesty behind the game and their treatment of players would be worthwhile. After all, we will know all the websites that buy from them. Just a crazy thought, I wouldn't dream of recommending that anyone actually do that.

Another place to complain, at least in New York, is the Attorney General's internet bureau: complaint form

As always, this is my opinion, I'm not speaking for anyone else or for the forum.

Pat me on the back!

That is the first clue I have needed no help with. Easiest yet I think.

Good job Fire Dragon Smile

You know, these rules are so confusing. They say:

Quote:
7.1.5 Divulging the location or locations of Golden Jigsaw pieces, whether by email, spoken word, blogs, instant messaging, text messaging, websites, forums, articles or any other form of communication.

is a problem, yet they have an approved official forum -complete with explicit hints - and that has a chat room to discuss the game. So it seems they have negated their own rules.

And they have the nerve to threaten a moderator of this forum? Just because she volunteers here?

enforcing rules not following them

I'm not playing the game, but have you noticed they seem to be
violating their own ToS/Privacy Policy, or set on a course to violate
it?

From the ToS:
Quote:
1.2 We recommend that you read our privacy policy which
contains important information about the use of your personal data,
other information regarding your privacy and our security processes
and policies. By accepting these terms and conditions you are also
acknowledging and accepting our privacy policy.

From the Privacy Policy:
Quote:
The information we collect is used to improve the content of
our Web pages, customize the content and/or layout of our pages for
each individual visitor, used to notify you about updates to our Web
site, used by us to contact you for marketing purposes via e-mail only
and not sold, leased or divulged to other organizations or entities
of any kind
.

However, from the page attempting to sell pieces (as quoted previously here):
Quote:
* Once the competition is closed advertisers will have
preferential access to the database of players
, all of whom will
have already visited their site. All players will have opted in for
marketing communications.

I believe the legal phrase here is "bad faith".

Important Note: Watch your cookies!

If you are playing the game and also frequent this site for any
reason, you might want to delete your cookies on a regular basis:

visitors preferences, record session information, such as items that
consumers add to their shopping cart, record user-specific
information on what pages users access or visit

Cookies

TBH if they have only sold 66 pieces i'm not really fussed about deleting my cookies as i signed up to take part in a competiton to win $1,000,000 which really looks like it isn't going to get anywhere near that amount.
I find it strange that a company over here in the UK offers the prize money in $'s
I wonder if trading standards should be contacted as they are advertising something they can't deliver.

Edited due to my poor spelling at 05.40am

Yes, I accidently came upon the chatroom log (July 22 - Aug 1) on a google search for something else - and the statics link shows the handles with "real" names in some cases (if they signed up with a real name), where they connected from (ex. Germany, Us, UK), and server/client, etc. So thought I should warn people.

just a thought

Just a thought that i had

I wonder if they are allowing it on their own forums so towards the end they can remove all the accounts of people who have posted links/given out clues etc.
Another way they don't have to pay out
