Possible Pro Wrestling related ARG?
Here's the story as I've learned it, from http://project161.blogspot.com/


Welcome to the Project 161 Blog. Here is what we know so far:

1. At the July 27/28 Ring of Honor shows, flyers were placed on all seats. These flyers said:

Nothing Saves
A WORLD Without HONOR Will
Suffer

www.abusedsociety.com

2. On bathroom mirrors at the ROH shows, the words "ABUSED SOCIETY" were written.

3. The website at http://www.abusedsociety.com shows a picture of the Statue of Liberty bleeding out of her eye, the words "NOTHING SAVES" and the following poem:

littered streets of the lost
the stench of pathetic, resigned to blood and rust
everything wasted
transparent
there is no honor
you will soon discover

Along the bottom of the site, it repeats "Project 161"

4. Clicking on the words "YOU WILL SOON DISCOVER" takes you to a second site (http://www.abusedsociety.com/other.html)

This site can also be accessed via http://www.nhsociety.com.

This site features pictures of a cityscape and the poem:

one second to know
the city will fall
eyes wide open

At the bottom of the site, it reads "Project 161"

Now being a lurker here for the last few months, I know a couple of tricks so I did a WhoIs, and got the following info:

 		Things may be picking up... the forum looks to be "under attack". Could be a prank related to them opening registration recently though.

Did anyone else notice that the whois has changed the registrant to Domains By Proxy?
OH and there a couple of new pictures on the home page.

How do you mean?

Oh, and the picture of a couple looks like it has a couple of photos in it, itself (unfortunately I can't decode it without a password).

 		I noticed the header for the main page is set up like a game of hangman. With some letters missing. Ive been trying to plug in some of the letters from the site but havent found anything interesting yet.

I am a ROH fan so I noticed a couple of things. In a recent DVD, wrestling Adam Pearce cut a pretty strange promo about being a savior or something to BJ whitmer, a wrestler that was in a slump.

On the second page, if you take the second word of each line it says "second city wide". Chicago is called the second city, and there was a faction in ROH called "The Second City Saints". Pearce is from Chicago. Could the picture of the city on that page be a old picture of the chicago skyline? Maybe during the chicago fire?

 		ROH is filming its 3rd ppv in Chicago on 9/15, it is also ROHs 161st show.

 		Also, at the last Chicago show Adam Pearce renounced Chicago as his hometown and vowed to make them sorry, or something. I've still got a weird feeling about this. There hasn't been any activity in a few days, and I don't know the details, but apparently ROH talked the blogger into closing it.

It's possible. It's just that none of this makes any sense. For it to be an outside force pranking everyone they'd have to:

1. Plant the flyers and messages on the mirrors in the bathrooms at the events this past weekend before doors opened to the public.

2. Know the phone number and email address of Gabe Sapolsky's personal friends.

3. Be lucky enough to have them open registration for the ROH message forums earlier this week. I understand you're not a wrestling fan, and have probably never heard of Ring of Honor, but them opening registration on their forums is rare indeed. They usually only do it a few times a year, and it was just opened a month or so ago. The other curious part of this is that registration was only open a few hours, and not days as is also customary.

There are so many things that scream ARG involved, I just don't understand the reaction from ROH to the blogger.
