[SPEC] Theory: Bird references? Hi all, semi-lurker of these forums..I havent seen this info posted yet but if this is all been posted before then I apologize. I've been browsing the myspace pages of the main character and have seen alot of references to beaks/birds I might miss a few but lets get started.
-First let me point out Rob and Jasons last name "Hawkins" and Jasons myspace display name "Hawk
-If you look at Rob's pictures you see a bird pinata in two of his pictures
http://www.myspace.com/robbyhawkins
-On Beths page she talks about a pelican in her "About Me" portion of her page
http://www.myspace.com/beth_mcintyre
-Lily works for Penguin Publishing
-In one of Jamies pictures is a picture of her with a stuffed animal that has a beak
http://www.myspace.com/jamielascano
-I can't remember whos page it was but one of them mentioned sea gulls
-On Jamies page she has "the doves" under music
And is it just me, or does the damage done to the statue of liberty in the teaser poster look like it was done by a beak or something? I might just be looking too much into it, but I definitely noticed a pattern. Like I said sorry if that has been discussed before.

For the birds I see the bird thing, but what are we lookin at a giant BALD EAGLE? I think we are back to the multiple monsters vs. hybrid/chimera thingy. I dunno.

I'm with ya I think you may BE on to something...I'm not mad at ya for speculating. And nothing monsterwise has really grabbed me. I haven't really been satisfied with what would make the claw marks in the buildings and sol, but a flying thingcould rip off the head and carry/launch it. It needs to swim tho,k and traverse on the ground too.

dragging hows about it dragging the head near the water or under water while it flies below the buildings

Well talons - particularly bigguns - would explain claw marks, even down the back on the SOL, as well as give some weight to how it got from SOL to land in a hurry. As for what produces the wake, my guess - under the monsterhawkbird option, is it's holding SOL's head in its talons dragging it through the water. OMG a giant Petrie!

Invisible monster? Ever thought of the possibility of an invisible monster? Judging from the poster, looks like it

I'm sure this is some sort of land dwelling creature, a bird would not just attack in a straight line as indicated by the arrow, it would be much more sparatic, chances are the bird would attack more from the air where is most comfortable, I cant see an eagle landing and attacking straight path into a city, doesn't seem logical..
Second, notice the claw marks circled, 3 claws, I'm not sure how a bird would manage to get those there and not leave the back talon mark, it looks much more in proportian with some sort of dinosaur like being, mid way up are the arms. Thirdly the boxed portion looks to be where the head smashed the side.
Just thoughts..

lmao - talk about ironic - giant eagle rips the head off SOL. Gotta love it.
However, kinda hard to get away with saying what a bird would or wouldn't do when discussing a giant huge alive monstrous creature laying waste to NYC....the fact it's fiction gives more room for making allowances on its abilities....and it'd depend on the bird...it could be a prehistoric thing and then they can make it look however they want. Then too, if it's slusho toxic driven, no telling what (else) it's capable of doing.
I'm just sayin
