Hi all. I'm new here but have lurked for a while, and just have a question about Syzygy -- has anyone who's put in a job application heard back yet? what are they (or -- to the Syzygy people reading this thread! -- you) doing, timescale-wise, about the billions of applications they must have had? if nobody knows I shall wait in suspense a bit more Wink

I posted a thread (the one currently below this one) wondering exactly the same thing.

I don't know if they really need puppetmasters. I just think they can use like webspace ppl want to offer, a helping hand in driving the game and so. But hey, maybe they ARE looking for extra ppl for a real development level, i dunno, but that's just my thought on the subject Wink

I think you're wrong there Clopin. They are looking for people to take part behind the scenes and not just to provide webspace etc.

They have funding of some sort so shouldn't (hopefully) need that.

Well I prefer to be wrong actually (doesn't happen to much :p)!
I'll be hoping along with you...

My thoughts are that they need quite a few people. If it will be like I think it will be, then they'll need more or less the same kind of departments as other businesses - accounts, marketing, providing support to customers, selling something - be it a subscription or advertising space etc etc, and all that on top of the creation of the game and the technical know-how.

Now I reckon that good business people are easy enough to find through conventional routes (agencies etc.). I think what they are after from the placing of the encrypted ads are people with something different. Not just ARG experience, or technical knowledge, but people who have some insight and brightness and ideas to throw onto the table.

Just my 2p Smile

At the very least, if they want to do local, physical, real-world stuff globally, they will need someone behind the scenes in each location. It would be difficult (and in some cases, impossible) to hide an object, know about local hotspots, submit an ad to a weekly throwaway paper, and a variety of other things without a person local to the establishment (i.e. not an international call for the people working at the paper) and who can speak the language.

yet another n00b here, but an american one. i'm fairly new to the whole ARG thing, in fact, but have been wanting to play, and this seems like a good place and game to grab onto from the beginning.

hoping i can bring some right-brain power to bear on the matter.

and, if the PMs are watching: yes, i'm job-hunting. Very Happy

I briefly thought about what it would be like to be a puppet master, but I decided that I would much rather play the game than run it Very Happy

Same with me... I considered submitting a résumé and everything, but I think I'll be too busy when it starts to be that involved... I think I'll just play. Very Happy

i'm new here, so if this doesnt have relevance just say

I was just wondering if anypone had anaylsed the music, it does seem rather random, so i was thinking something could be hidden in it.

morse code for example, or, this might be far fetched, but i remembered about this a while back
http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,52426,00.html

Also at the end of the music, i thought i could hear "hammersmith"

and also "alison" makes me think of "Alice on" as in a reference to Alice in wonderland again.

another thought occured, the small picture in the corner could be a still from the film "the game" maybe the time at which it occurs or the chapter, it could have some significance.

As for the P i'm sure there is a site which anaylses fonts and then tells you which font it is.

another thing
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

http://members.aol.com/cacophonyoflight/aibohphobia.html

abiohphobia is the fear of palinromes, plus it has other things, i searched on google for aiaibohphobia

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=aibohphobia&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&meta=

found on another site

http://kasley.com/music/aibohphobia/aibohphobia.html

loosely based on the "phase canon" process originated by Steve Reich in his 1965 tape composition, "It's Gonna Rain". this piece consists of several palindromic loops of found material, two at the exact same pitch but 180 degrees out of sync with each other for the duration of the piece, providing a constant wash of sound which seems to be simultaneously coming and going, then several other identical loops played at lower, complimentary pitches, drifting in and out of sync with everything else.

also someone has a sick sense of humour lol, Aibohphobia is also a palindrome
