The answer I got for #7 is $847.63. That is what the register said when maggie was scanned.

I also found a Del Pettit who is the county assessor for Thurston County, which is the county Olympia is in. Is this the same guy?

Maggie Simpson

I found this... Possible Answer #7

1.3 In the opening credits, how much does Maggie cost?
$847.63. It has been claimed by many that Matt Groening once stated that the figure reflects the amount once determined to be the monthly cost of raising an infant in the United States. However, no reliable source confirms this.

A few more:
13.. What states didn't change their clocks last weekend?

all of them Smile. This weekend, Hawaii, Arizona, and parts of Indiana will
keep standard time.

For the schoolmates, I went to classmates.com. Amboy doesn't have a high school listed, but I checked the middle school and several people were in middle school for the duration, so I named them figuring they would still be around. Figuring Marty is 29 and assuming he graduated at 18, he would be high school class of '93. Back four years from that and he was in middle school until 1989.

8.. Name 3 people Marty, Marcus, and Jude went to High School with.

Tami Adams, Fabiyi Oluseyi, and Neile Wheatley

Del Pettit

Yeah, I believe that is the same guy. I got that search result to, so I figure I'll mention it. But that court case didn't net too much info as far as what "he contributed". Long story short, I'd include blurbs on both of the cases he was involved in.

According to classmates.com (you can click the accompanying link if you are a registered user),
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Marcus Thesburg went to high school in Battle Ground, Washington. However, neither Manson nor Williams show up as having attended that school.
Kudos to Bill for the heads up to use this site. Edit: Bill used a different search method than I did for the Classmates site.

As for Miss Simpson, I just so happen to have a Simpson's Episode Guide handy, and the answer is:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
$847.63
Edit: lol, people posted twice before I could post this. You fast, sneaky bastages!

Correct me if I'm terribly wrong, but isn't #13 a trick question? Or do Canadians have a different daylight savings time schedule than the yanks? Smile Edit: See aforementioned sneaky bastage statement. Bill, you are still too quick for me.

And #14 is pretty impossible to find, as I've only been able to locate wishlists for new features for this game.

And all I can find about the Madden 2005 game is the possibility it will be available for Xbox Live.

This is the best I could find:

February 03, 2004 - Update:
IGN reported yesterday that retailer GameStop updated its release dates and browsers noticed that both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of Madden NFL 2005 appeared, but that the GCN incarnation was mysteriously absent.
Various news sites on the Internet suggested that the GameCube build of Madden NFL 2005 could have been cancelled.
We noted that EA has traditionally developed its Madden football games on PlayStation 2 and ported the titles over to GameCube and Xbox. The publisher provided continued support of Nintendo's console in 2003, even as its biggest sporting competitor Sega Sports pulled all GCN versions of its titles.
We contacted EA for comment, but the company wasn't willing to talk about the next Madden. Though quizzed on the subject several times, a spokesperson for the publisher would only say: "We have not made any announcements on the next Madden game" Since then, however, GameStop has updated its release list again and the GameCube version of Madden NFL 2005 is now featured. The title is scheduled for an August 2004 release. Not only that, but Electronic Arts' European branch officially confirmed that the GCN version is very much in development.

123 MSB

#5 Possible 123rd answer:

Return on or around April 12, 2004: Date acquired from interview with Army Pfc. Lindsay Clark, 123rd MSB, said her R&R leave was "an injection of good stuff" that will make the six months she has left in Iraq easier than her first six months. Dated Oct 12, 2003

I can't find this answer but I would think the 123rd MSB will be in Iraq as long as american troops are in Iraq. They are the Main Supply Battalion so they will stay to supply the troops.

Regarding number 10, Continental Marketing, I tried looking through the local paper in Albany, business records, the Chamber of Commerce, and came up with nothing.

For Malynn Wilbur, looked into birth records, the local press, and poked at the "online detective" sites but wasn't willing to pay any money, so does anyone have a membership to one of these sites? I didn't have any luck finding anything on her, though I did find a May L. Wilbur.

I've been looking for Madden 2005 and found this link.. haven't been able to find anything else.

http://sports.ign.com/articles/474/474717p2.html

Madden NFL 2005

Publisher: EA Sports

Developer: Tiburon

The Pitch: The most celebrated sports franchise of all time, Madden is to video games what Kleenex is to a runny nose. It's the most played, most talked about, most loved and at the same time most hated on game going. The thing is, it's not the gamers that hate on Big John and EA, it's the competition that pull their hair out trying to find new ways to beat the juggernaut each year, only to watch the dollars continue to stack and the game's fans becoming even more loyal with each rendition. And why shouldn't they, as Madden 2004 proved to be the best in series history introducing Owner mode and Playmaker controls into the mix. 2005 promises to be even better.

Why it's Going to Rock: While everyone else is trying to simply catch up to what Madden introduced in 2004, the developers at Tiburon are already thinking about features they should bring in 2010. Okay, so maybe they don't work that far ahead, but they were already working on adding new features into 2005 before last year's game even shipped. Expect more ownership options ($20 for a hotdog!?!) along with even more ways to be a playmaker including a revamped playmaker blocking mode. It would also be great to see the team chemistry features introduced in MVP also make their way into Madden.

Early money on the soon-to-be cursed cover athlete is Ray Lewis, although Raven fans might hope for someone else to strike the pose considering everyone else who has ever been featured on the box has gone down with either an injury or caught a severe case of suckitis from the moment the game hit stores. Maybe they should decrease their cover athlete's attribute points by half before shipping the game just to make things more realistic.

I found the following site for Continental Marketing

http://www.cmsales.com/

But as to what their product was in 1996, I haven't a clue.

I sent the following email to the customer service person at Continental Marketing:

Ms. Hainline,

Greetings. I am hoping you can help me out with something of an odd request. Your company has been, presumably unwittingly, in the research component of a job interview I am engaged with, at an up and coming information firm (the name of which I'm unable to disclose, per their requirements in their position as a defense contractor). The position is that of a researcher nee detective, and as part of their test of candidates prowess, we are to find out, to quote, "What was the product of Continental Marketing of Albany OR in 1996?" I would not be asking for your time except, one, I've exhausted ideas on how to find the information (having searched newspapers, Chamber of Commerce sites, etc.), and two, the job is very important to me.

If you could be of any help, I would very much appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Alan Link Starfarbalwitz

Regarding the chemical composition of Mount St. Helens ash:

http://www.creationism.org/sthelens/USGS1250/USGS1250j233-250.htm

There's a couple long articles, though this will probably do:

Fumaroles associated with the 1980 eruptive activity of Mount St. Helens occur (1) within the crater, where heat and fluids may be derived directly from magma and from crustal rocks in contact with the rising magma, and (2) as rootless fumaroles in the flowage deposits, where heat and fluids are derived locally from within the deposits. Much of the encrustation material was deposited at temperatures less than 250°C as noncrystalline yellowish films on ash particles and rock fragments and as encrustations around fumarole vents. Encrustations are mostly red, orange, yellow, and white. They begin to crystallize during cooling and dehydration immediately after deposition. Common mineral phases are sulfur, gypsum, halotrichite, and hematite. Less common phases are sal ammoniac, thenardite, glauberite, anhydrite, melanterite, alunite, and halite. Numerous unstable and poorly crystalline phases in process of dehydration and crystallization are under study. The major chemical components making up the fumarole deposits are Cl, F, H2O, SO4, Fe, Al, Ca, Na, K, and S.
