Hmmm... a few random thoughts:

Has anyone recently called the phone number given in Triton's press release, to see if it too is affected by the "Security Lockdown"?

Also... Kellie claims she's "Trapped on the lower D-ring testing platform." Due to the little amount of information given, it sounds as if the email was rather rushed... So, if there is a security lockdown stopping online communications, how was she able to set up the auto-responder? Furthermore, if she is indeed "Trapped" somewhere underground, where did she find a computer to set this up, and why the hurry?

And, one final observation: the first line is "Don't believe anything Triton tells you. I didn't write that security protocol notice." She refers to Triton as if she were some sort of outsider. Maybe she's not really part of the company, as the press release claims?

I have a feeling none of this matters much (At least, not at the present...) but, honestly, we really have nothing else to do but speculate now XD

She also says she didnt know what she was doing. She works for them, or did till now. She just didnt know they were evil until it was to late.

Her exact words were: I had no idea what they were doing here, if I don't make it to the surface may God forgive me for any part I have played in this.

I assume "They" means either the Mezin, or whatever caused the Security Lockdown (They, also, both may be the same thing.) In any case, before anyone makes conclusions that "they" may be why the email is rushed: I don't think that's the reason, since they probably would have shot her dead if they knew she was sending a plea for help. Remember: It DOES take quite a while to start up a computer and open up an email program.

EDIT: Upon re-reading this post... it seem kinda rude :/ Please excuse me if it came off to you all as such. I assure you, that was not my intention. And if it didn't... well... all the better for me Wink

You must have a crappy computer... and in this day and age, who doesnt have a blackberry, or cell phone that can send email.

By "quite a while" I meant "More then long enough for a Mezin soldier to come downstairs and bust a cap in your @$$" Wink I would assume it'd be the way with a Blackberry.

I have a rather new computer, running Windows XP Pro, and yes it takes more than a couple of minutes for it to power on, load the OS, let me log in, run Outlook, and access the Send/Receive menu. And no, I do not have a Blackberry, nor do I pay for a cell phone plan that lets me send emails or txtmsg. Sometimes with these stories, you have to imagine that the characters are not all identical to yourself.

When I think lockdown, I think of something like an alarm going off, and doors automatically locking, as in, nobody gets in or out. Whoever she is trapped with, they arent the bad guys, the bad guys are the ones who didnt get trapped. The people issuing the lockdown just didnt know she had a wireless device to send an email with.

This person is working for a DoD defence contractor. I would imagine they have good computers as well as good cellular phones. In my line of work I work with several government agencies as companies that have to follow DoD guidlines. The people at those companies have really good systems.

*Edit: and why would her comptuer be off? I know if my computer is up and running, it takes all of 2 seconds to open mozilla thunderbird.

What do you think this is, a game? Wink

It could be quite possible that this "Lockdown" is a manual one. You know, with people sitting next to all the exits with AK-47s in hand.

Although... I must admit... There would be nothing cooler then to watch a bunch of red lights flash as huge walls of steel randomly fall from the celing to block all the exits. *Nod nod*

Remember, Kellie wasn't the one that sent the Security Protocol notice. That sorta implies that the bad guys are doing it.

They are at the headquarters of a DoD defence contractor, in a section that sounds very much like some kind of lab. If it has unstable chemicals, or dangorus materials like radioactive material, it would seem very very feesable that they have an automatic lockdown system. Have to be able to keep things from spreading.

*Points to the post in question, which has been edited*

Sorry 'bout that. It usually takes me several edits to get out my train of thought Razz A bad habit of mine, I'm afraid.

So where did all this Jacob and Erik bullcrap come from? I could never figure out why so many people got caught up with them when Van NEVER talks about them. And even after its been blatently pointed out that "Erik Haas" cant be Ethans brother as he claims to be (he would be VERY VERY old) people still think its in game. Can someone explain how all these people got so off track?

Someone showed up online claiming to be Ethan's brother. Somewhere in all of this it was decided that the journal pages were fakes meant to convince us that Ethan lived in the 1800s.

But, as you suggest, not one single site or character known to be in-game has ever done or said anything to authenticate Erik or his successor Jacob.

So, either they are not in-game, or they are in-game and the puppetmasters on this thing don't know what they Hell they are doing because they failed to properly establish and authenticate those characters as in-game.

I hate gamejackers.....

And it just really amazes me how many people are still following this. And why would Van himself give us fake pages lol...

poor poor misguided fools.

Well, There is some places that are still living the day of August 1, but I dont believe they are waiting this places to update the website.
