The Whalestoe Letters were letters from the Narrorator's psycho mother.
and trust me it has nothing to do with Cloverfield or Slusho
I've read the book twice

i don't think it absolutely has nothing to do with Slusho! i mean...the story of the book itself-not a damn thing...but the whole dissecting the hell out of it and such....in the least-JJ was giving the book a shout out because the people involved in this "game" would probably eat it up.

So who would be narrating slusho's history?

It could be that's the lead - the solution to slusho/ms pages, possibly 1-18 is using one of the codes from the book. I've not read it so have no access....but I hope you who have will keep checking into it. The rule should be it's all relevant, never arbitrary, until proven otherwise ;-p

To be safe and cover all bases.

EDIT: Cause I keep forgetting to ask this: awhile back someone on one of these threads mentioned zooming in a few times on the flavors page and seeing these marks on the lever image part, and wondered about if this could be a hint on where to adjust the levers. I wanted to ask if anyone had been able to take a look at the lever images themselves to see if this is a natural artifact or if it's been put there. I can do nothing with flash so depend on flashies to work that magic.

I noticed this one, whether it's been mentioned already beside the point, but in the title bar there's the thick | character between Slusho! and You Can't Drink Just Six. Which has a period instead of the typical overly excited !!!!

Another one I noticed or was curious about is if the stars, the distant and nearer ones could have some sort of significance. Morse maybe? Their positions with respect to the flavor bots?

Regarding the flavor bots, they're pretty interesting....I know when I first learned it was updated and pulled up the page I nearly cried thinking OMG TRANSFORMERS NOOOOOOOOO....I totally wasn't expecting robots (but while it's still probably just an insider's nod the same ones are behind it, ya never know....there could end up being some S7ishness going on....)

Blueberry Zoom's eyes are round and blink white off and on. It has two.
Skip one and Mikan's got one round eye that blinks yellow off and on.
Skip another one and Banana Anime has two round eyes that blink orange off and on.

Back up some:

Chocolate Rage, the 2nd bot, has two upright rectangular eyes with white bars moving up.
Skip one and Nashi has sunglasses eyes (or partial horiz. rectangle shape) with thinner white bars moving up.
Skip one and Strawberry Tasty has one horizontal rectangle eye with one verticle blue bar sliding left to right.

And more....

Blueberry Zoom has round belly with bubbles.
Skip one and Miakn has round belly with bubbles.
No skip and Nashi has round belly with bubbles.

Backing up:

Chocolate Rage has no bubbles
Skip two and
Banana Anime and Strawberry Tasty have no bubbles...however this one has more circle flashing patterns than the others, as well as green bars blinking at the elbows.

These circles and bars keep striking me as dots and dashes, and skipping this one, not that one, and the stars bright or dimness may be significant. Or maybe it's the blinking off/on and down/up left/right that is a key. Worth a look....

I've never read the book either, so I'll take your word for it - you read it twice - works for me.

Still, if it's full of puzzles & word-games, then it might yet be usefull. . . as a gen. clue about the TYPE(s) of puzzle we might be up against (somewhere), and/or the method we'll need to use to solve something.

Oh and, like the SOL, whatever flavor combos you use, when the new megabot is produced, it also has no head, only straw.

I'd never heard of ARGs before seeing the story on them and their effectiveness on Attack of the Show (a show in g4TV). Super cool, loved the idea, thought I'd check out the site. This is the first one I clicked on and the only one that hasn't fully creeped me out. =]

I've read all of this thread and I'm pretty far into the long, locked Slusho! thread and one of the MySpace ones. I think I'm fairly caught up, although please fill me in if I'm wrong. I have some theories; some expand on things stated already, some are my own ideas...

1) I tried a search so I don't think this has been mentioned (and honestly, I think it's completely irrelevant, but it's worth saying). Has anyone else noticed that on the Slusho! site, the monkey on the store's catwalk page is only found there and on the Happy Talk section? Likewise, the Happy talk section has two cartoons only there (the bear and pig). Again, I doubt this has anything to do with anything, but I thought I'd point it out.

2) This is has been discussed in pieces but I want to combine for my theory. The prominence of words with 6 letters and double middle letters is obvious. The state of the buttons on the home page, as well as the names of the robots, has been mentioned as well. Was that just an unspoken "duh" for everyone, or did I actually figure something out? Smile

3) The randomly pixely-when-zoomed slogan on the bottom was discussed, either here or on another thread, but did anyone else notice that the TM for the slogan is perfectly clear? Just a thought.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm also thinking that this ARG isn't something that we'll be able to figure out (whatever we may be figuring out) until very close to the actual date. But...I had a thought of something to try. We should start trying to compile a list of words with 6 letters and double letters in the middle. I'd start, but its 4 o'clock in the morning and I'm exhausted. Shocked

The bubbles/eyes theory for dots and dashes is a great idea. +2 Kudos.

However, h00chi3 said he/she's decompiled the flavors.swf, and no hidden link exists for correctly guessing a certain flavor combination. If anything comes of the morse code thought, though, by all means, post findings.

Slusho Ingredent

I may be pushing it here with a theory but anyone think that the creature or creatures may have been created by the secret ingredent in slusho?

shirt

I wanted to order a shirt, but you can only select addresses from the U.S. so I sent an email to the store address asking if it was possible to get them shipped to Canada. however I have not recieved a reply yet thought this was strange because it is the second email i have sent to the store and not gotten a reply. also because it seemed to be a legit question for an online store to answer. Perhaps the store is not real... also, you think they would make the products available to Canada seeing as how one of the characters in the movie is from the land of the beav... so. has anyone actually received a shirt from the store? i'm thinking its not real/been setup yet....

Another link to Cloverfield

Hey, the ice cream wagon has an image of Motorola stuff on it, and I think whatever that product is is what's taking the pictures on the Cloverfield site, or one of the people has one...because the fonts look similar to what the guy is holding in his hand.

crab faces

Just a funny little thing I noticed. The three new expressions of the crab in Slusho! history are angry, sad and surprised.

Angry
Sad
Surprised
... = ASS

Just a funny coincidience as it was ASS , FOUND and THAT in caps in Abrams note.

just to clarify on the sliders on the flavours page, if you do zoom in yes there are marks there, 2 in fact on each bar, and they are all the same, i would geuss that one bar was created and then duplicated to the location of the others hence each one has the markings, and setting them to the marks does nothing special as has been mentioned by decompiling.

you guys noticed that they're all breathing, eh? like, their arms are subtly moving up and down, like heavy breathing, huffing and puffing. considering robots don't breath, this kinda creeps me out...
