Unfortunately, I think tipsila is right.

BTW, I got a response from Tanya about the voices on the recording.

Quote:
I've...never heard any of the voices before.

Gods, they sound...scary.

- Tanya

And she's updated her livejournal:

Quote:
Finally managed to find an Internet connection.

Nothing, yet, really.

Since TX... though I've been noticing some really odd cars that seem to keep cropping up.

Not sure what's going on, but if what's in the message is right things may be getting a little more dangerous than I'm ready for.

Not a great clue, there. Rolling Eyes I wish she was more specific, like in the others.

I don't think it's supposed to be a clue so much as it's supposed to build a little suspense.

New post on the searchin4 journal, no idea about the red x, but Joseph Campbell is best known for his book "The Hero with a Thousand Faces," which apparently only outlined patterns he observed in James Joyce's "monomyth" theory, rather than being the originator of the term like I thought. Anyway, basically the idea is that all stories follow the same sorts of patterns, meaning that when comparing such diverse works as Harry Potter, Star Wars, and presumably Supernatural, there will be common themes and plot elements.

Joseph Campbell's wiki is here.

General explanation of the Monomyth is here.

flipthefrog,

The entry is filtered, you may be the only one who can see it. Until you posted, I was operating under the idea that it was private and holding my tongue.

Assuming the bad guys might get me before morning... Very Happy

We've been given four locations: Harlan, KY; Savannah, GA; Amarillo, TX; and New Orleans, LA

We've been given a red X.

Can we put these two together?

(My concentration skill is currently at a serious low due to physical health issues.)

Scratch that.

My brain apparently has other ideas.

Mapping from savannah to amarillo and harlan to new orleans in google, both routes go through Birmingham, Alabama.

Also, and probably what kicked my brain over, I just got an email from Sam Winchester saying (in ROT-13), that they were -not- the ones leaving the phone messages for Tanya. Since Trish's smashed cellphone came with the sweater, I don't think she's getting another message that way.

I'm telling her to bail.

Email from Sam

I emailed Sam on Saturday asking what he thought of the photo of Trish. he has just replied with what I thought was Hex, but it doesn't transpose to ASCII.

James, I can't make anything of that message either. Weird. Also, I wonder if the hero reference means that she'll finally meet up with Da Boys there? Hmm.

I googled "[google]Caddy Birmingham[/google]" and came up with

Caddie Please Inc
907 Stuart St
Homewood, AL 35209
(205) 423-9221

It's pretty much right on her route, but it doesn't have a website at all and I could just be imagining relevance.

Caddy is a nickname for Cadillac, which could mean the car -- or maybe Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac -- since she is already in Louisiana, or Alabama...

Quote:

In 1710, Cadillac was removed from duty at Fort Ponchartrain and made governor of the French Province of Louisiana. He left the village in 1711. In September of 1712, Cadillac gave exclusive trading rights in Louisiana to Parisian, Antoine Crozat. Crozat soon took over Cadillac's office entirely, albeit not formally. Cadillac may have gone to France at this time. Louisiana records indicate that he was aboard a French frigate when it arrived in Mobile Bay on May 17, 1713. Later that year, Cadillac caused the Louisiana headquarters to be moved from Mobile Bay to present day Mobile, Alabama. During the next few years, Cadillac made several expeditions in search of resources to support the Louisiana settlements.

Eep.

They're either getting trickier about their encryption, or this is a phone number. (I strongly suspect the former.)

I asked them:
Quote:
I was wondering if y'all are still using the license plate from your home state.

because of the license plate on the car Tanya saw.

Sam responded:

I cannot bring myself to play this game...

Every time I think of Tricia in connection with Sam and Dean I think of Tricia Helfer's guest starring in the episode "Roadkill" and...

Ugh. Plus, Sam is emailing people using ROT-13? GMAB. C'mon. He's so much more clever than that. PLUS it's not following Supernatural mythology at all, is it? Unless Tanya's been taken by one of the Hellmonsters let out by the boys at the end of S2...

Sorry. Hardcore Supernatural Fan + Essentially Invisible = Griping.
