News Brief: Buisnessman Orlops to make real life ARG

Got this from a friend of a friend. Should appear in the papers soon.

LOS ANGELES, Californa – Today, businessman Alif Orlops announced that he would be running a one of a kind Alternate Reality Game ("ARG"). For readers that aren't familiar with the concept, ARGs are games that are usually set up in a fantasy world online, where users sometimes solve intense puzzles to progress in a story. The most popular examples are Cloudmakers, an ARG that was based on the movie "A.I.", and the failed "Majestic."
For readers that have seen the movie "The Game" (1997); you should understand this concept; Orlops is planning on creating a real life ARG that can be personally tailored to each individual that signs up or that can be played in teams. Orlops, however, explains that this experience will be in no way as dangerous as "The Game." "This game may scare or cause the player to go insane at times, but never will the players life be in danger, except when the players life is in danger."
The "game," which will be run by Orlops company, Consumer Recreation Services, named after the fake company in "The Game," will only be able to produce a certain number of games at a time, and expects the waitlist to be "very long." The prices also can be bothersome for some players that don't have much money resource. "For less well-off users, the game is shorter and less involved,' explains Orlops. Orlops also plans on creating a payment plan for the game.
The game can also be stopped if a user so wishes, Orlops adds "and this is not like 'The Game'; we'll take your request with the utmost seriousness and stop, unless we decide you can handle us contniuing to torture you."
For players interested in playing, Orlops plans to release another press release announcing the website address sometime today. Until then, just sit back, and wait patiently. Orlops is expecting that the user reception of the game will be good; beta testing is going extremely well with zero deaths so far, and expects that any user that signs up for an individualized game will "have fun," adding, "bwahahahaha."

Hey!

He stole my concept. It was called "Borderlife" and was supposed to be basicly the same thing. You could order "add-on" experiences regarding something you were missing in your life from Interacting Arts.

Well, I guess we should have spent more time and effort on it to get it running.

Sad

Maybe if I loaded my anagram generator...

Something tells me "Alif Orlops" is an assumed name. Wink

Now I wonder... who's the greatest fool? The fool or the one following the fool?
