Hey guys, Peter Sciretta from slashfilm. Just thought I'd mention that I mentioned malemunyon, unfiction forums and even Cloverfield Clues in the five minute interview I did earlier today with CNBC. However, they cut the footage down to 25 seconds, and obviously, much of what I talked about didn't get on air. You can watch the clip here:

I figured they trimmed their segment down; you did good on the clip, though.

If you are in fact Peter, on behalf of myself and some of the others from the threads- thank you for crediting malemunyon. I think you're the only site who posted his findings that actually credited him. Kudos +1.

I gave credit to Malemunyon... FYI, I'm very careful to give credit where credit is due.

Ditto; any time I mentioned it on my blog or on IMDB, I tracked back to Unfiction and/or malemunyon.

Didn't mean to ruffle feathers Smile

I meant as far as the major sites- /film, AICN, etc. People who frequent the forums are good about quoting, referencing, linking, etc. It's just 90% of the time the big sites take cred for their own.

Ha, one of those is Hungarian, one's British, and the other's an independent film from '86. Pretty sure this could still be called Overnight without any big problems.

No updates yet on this. I'm keeping an eye on the trademark database for anything new.

I haven't seen/heard any denials of Overnight from either Abrams or JTW. Group One hasn't come out and said anything either. Not that an absence of denial is a confirmation.

A couple of people on Rotten Tomatoes pointed this out, and I think it bears repeating;

It's not that expensive to file for a trademark for something like this, especially if you've got money like JJ Abrams does. Overnight could just as easily be a red herring as a legitimate title. Besides, do you really think with all the coverup that's been surrounding the project that Abrams would let the title slip THAT easily?

And if I'm wrong, Overnight is a terrible title for a movie like this.

I hardly consider that "easy".

As for Abrams confirming or denying it... he's getting more press out of the whole thing saying nothing at all, regardless of whether it's true or not.
