*phew* got the piece... had to try a few iterations as I wasn't certain on a couple of the clues.

It's in exactly the same form as a previous website's piece location.

Try this;

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
word 1: highly rated
word 2: gem like a top hat
word 3: flies above royal palaces when they are home
word 4: least (antonym)
word 5: where you're at when you've finished this Twisted Evil

UK contest methods?

I'm hoping someone can help me out with what may be cultural differences.

As a player, I have done my best to abide by their changing rules policy, and if they delete my profile after posting this, they will not be doing so because I violated any listed rules.

Here in the States, I'm used to contests, particularly those with large prizes, following certain rules.

- Independent outside arbiter to ensure fairness and honesty.
- Disclosure of winners.
- Binding two-way agreements.

As has already been noted, this contest has no outside arbiter and, after the wildcard rounds, they not only seem to have no intention of disclosing winners but of even disclosing that someone -has- won.

After this, I was seriously thinking about opting out, but unlike standard internet protocol, they have no method for opting out -entirely-, only for opting out in response to each marketing attempt.

That's when it hit me how seriously bad this was.

Even if they had a method for opting out of everything and having all of your information deleted from their database, considering their shifty and shady (constantly changing rules and unscrutinized practices) methods, we have no guarantee that they would even honor such a request instead of claiming to do so, selling off all of your information anyway, and laughing at all the rubes.

What I want to know is:

Is this normal for a UK competition?

Is there an agency or organization in the UK that could be called on to investigate them?

If they're legit, I'd think they'd welcome such an investigation to put an end to the questions once and for all.

If they're not, they need to learn that the internet is not an unpoliced wilderness where they can boldly scam people and not fear reprisal even when they are not being anonymous.

Personal information is not a frivolous exchange.

You could try http://www.oft.gov.uk/ there has been a new competitons act which maybe be of help to you. If not i'm sure that these people could point you in the correct direction. They are the office of fair trading,
