(INFO) The SOA Round Thing OKAY. I was browsing TV the other day (before i even started up on this ARG) and I stopped at history channel. The program was set around the incredible technological advances in ancient times. They HAD THE ROUND THINGY ON THERE. Ya know, the thing with like the plus sign in the middle? They said they actually think it was an ancienct Roman Analog Computor. I shall do more research on this and if no one replies before i find something out Ill edit it into this post...

Oh. This?
Interesting. From what I've read so far it seams its purpose was for lunar and solar eclipses. I'm guessing they based the glyph off of this mechanism.
From reading the second link you posted, the picture ^ seams a little familiar like the attachment does it not, almost as if they photoshopped it out.
[Edit] If you notice carefully where I drew on it, the handles show up in the attachment and from the picture above. And I added a comparison pic as well just in case.
Good find btw.

yes yes that is the exact same thing. They showed it on history channel and i was thinking "what a stupid looking piece of dung" LOL. Im glad i saw it. ALSO, while i have my own thread and all, did anyone notcie in the halo comic on the last page the african who painted on his walls was painting something that looked like 13/223 (13 with a line underneath it and 223 underneath that) could it have anything do to with the physics formula that was discovered behind 801snpow?

It is actually 16 over 223 and that was used to find Server 01.

I don't think so unless possibly one has to use the IP (206.16.223.65) to solve the equation but the problem is that how one would know what to plug in and where.

hmmm perhaps we have to further figure out parts of the equation...and the numerical answer would produce it????
EDIT: Regardless, lets continue this in the thread made just for the pic.

in my opinion, I dont think its anything. I doubt Bungie wanted its viewers to constantly watch the history channel in hopes of seeing this. Those objects are real objects, and if someone shows them on a documentary doesnt mean theyre related to the Iris. Besides, comic 1 was already decoded and is over.

You really should search the forums before posting stuff that people have already been discussing . Keep your eyes open for more info, but keep in mind that people have been dissecting the SOTA website since day one (maybe technically before day one, depending on how it's reckoned), so there is very little possibility of anything new coming from it.

53455 i realize where the topic i, hence my edit in my last post. ALSO, I never said that bungie wants us to watch history channel, there just happened to be a doc about it and i figured is shed a little light on it. and if no one has figured out anything on the SOTA website, then obviously it still serves SOME purpose. they would just give us a website like that and it be a dead end.

i'm not gonna argue with a person that wants to dive deeper into a mystery but if u are lookin for more info on the antikythera device, here's a website i found that is completely devoted to it
http://www.antikythera-mechanism.gr/
fyi, it has got the same pics, as well as pics of the other parts of the device

so has there been any connections made w/ SOTA? The device is believed to be roman, and the only thing i can see is the fact tjta master chief is known as Spartan 117. But spartans were greek, right? ugh im so confused. they need to just open a new server.

Yes, Spartans were greek. I dont see any Roman/Halo connections, hmm...
Keep looking into it, but I still think this will lead to a dead end. SotA's over...
