I was # 79 to complete the game (Nov. 17th) and went to Vegas. This game took me between 15 and 20 hours over a period of 3 weeks to complete. Of course this includes the 1 week it took to send/receive the letter.
Speaking of the letter, the button apparently got caught in the sorting machine and it broke. The letter itself looks like it went through he shredder. My letter arrived inside of a USPS "Sorry we blew it" envelope.
What a treat! I know absolutely nada about Chess, so I may be up a creek down the road. I had a ball anyway.
I have a few pics to show off.

Sorry I missed the fun

I understand that 20,000 people started the game, 250 completed. All 250 were entered into the drawing, regardless of if they went to Vegas. The guy who won the BMW Mountain Bike was not present.

Vegas Oh my, I wish I knew some of you guys were there; I was there also.
Totally didn't think to ask about ARGN relation.
My experiences were already posted on collectivedetective.org.
The man in the black warm up suit was in place just a tad early (I met him about 5:45p as he arrived; made me the first person to greet him). The man in the restaurant handing out chess pieces was Russ, one of the PMs. Pat is the name of the man in the trenchcoat standing by the car. They didn't tell the first comers about the "free" trip up the tower elevator until later (the first few contestants, like me, bought our tickets, but it is only $4 for NV residents).
The men in black suits were contestants who drove up from San Diego and decided it would be cool to be "in character". Kim - I remember meeting you and your family (thanks to which ever one took the picture of me and the car).
Yes, all 250 people who entered via the internet were eligible for the drawing; need not be present to win. The winners were predrawn before that evening (they had fancy certificant printouts of the winners in a folder they brought down to the car at 8p). The "file" folder was open and on display for all to view (and many of us took pictures). My chess piece is proudly sitting on top of my computer monitor - waiting for the next season to commence.

What fun! Thanks for everybody's scoop!
So, konamouse - is that you with the car in Kim's 48.jpg?

Unanswered Q Thanks to http://www.bmwfilms-hq.com/ for pointing this site out to me. I finished in late November (#93) and was wondering does anyone know what the buttons were for?
Is there going to be a 3rd game?
I should've gone to Vegas!
Oh well, at least I finished the game.
Congrats to the winners.

Man I can't believe I missed all of that. I was #5 to register and I didn't know there would be that many people entering the contest. I was always thinking I was late because I never noticed there clues in the subplots. Oh well!
Congrats to those who won. Anyone know where I can get that chesspiece that they handed out in Las Vegas or the DVD. Maybe there are going to give people a chance to get that chesspiece in the beginning of the next game(hopefully).

Too bad Konamouse,
I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to talk with you. Shortly after the winners were anounced we took off back to our hotel. My mom and sisters had soooo much fun, and they didn't even play the game.
I'll certainly be at the next venue, wherever that may be. Me...and my pawn.
Hope to see you there.

In Kim's archive - 48.jpg (I mistakenly referred to it as Sue's pics, but that's Kim's Mom's name).

I won the mtn bike... They haven't contacted me as to shipping, but it was cool to get fedex saying "you may have won something." It felt like Publisher's Clearing house.
I'm part of a small group at UNH who tried to crack the code; I was #37. I would have loved to go, but my Dad didn't feel like flying out there (pilot). Ah, well, whatever.

The DVD will be given away on bmwfilms.com; while supplies last. They said they'd send an e-mail when they were ready.

Congratulations, Andrew! You'll have to take a pic for us when you get the bike!
You're right about the DVDs too...if you input the 6 keys at the same page you did before, now it'll give you a little signup thing to be notified when they're ready.
