Question/citation wanted: Can someone point me to where Abrams nixed the use of religion in his work? Any interview, anything cited? Because the Catholic/Buddhist symbolism in LOST called, it wants to know what's up with that.

Is there a reason you didn't list Beth or did you simply forget? The Slusho Six or the Slusho Seven?

Well, I can't point you to where he said that... however...
Lost is no longer in the hands of J.J. Abrams. All the story and plot devices are now decided by two (wonderful) people named Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.

Which is fine, but a lot of the character work was laid out in first season - Charlie's Catholicism was laid out at the beginning of The Moth, for example, not to mention Rose's discussion of faith in Pilot, pt 2. Anyway, I'm veering offtopic. I don't really think the film is going to have anything to do with religion, honestly - some symbolism at best. I'm just poking because if this is going to be a definitive thread to begin, statements need to be able to be supported. I don't see supportive arguments for Abrams view on religion any time it's been brought up and it either needs to be cited or go out.

Guys- again- this is NOT a [SPEC] thread. No speculation. The question regarding JJA's refusal to use religion is best placed in the [META] Q&A Thread.

My argument is that your statement on Abrams' stance on religion is based off of speculation, because I can't find a cite on google. EDIT: However, I'll move any further commentary to your suggested page meanwhile. And you took it out anyway, so it's moot as far as this thread goes. Thank you, and we're outta your thread.

So I was just fooling around on Wikipedia looking up info on whales and I found a page of whale songs. The song of the blue whale sounds awfully close to the beastie in the 1-18-08 trailer, like maybe they based the call off of it (same length of call, similar range of high and low)

If you substitute God for Rob, the trailer does sound like an end of days movie. "He is like the main dude" "how do I survive without Rob" etc..
Has anyone identified what the box is behind the blond girl (to the left of the fan) saying Rob is Awesome @ 00:25? Are those birds or planes?
EDIT: Appropriate tag added As konamouse mentions below, we use these tags so that the many games can all coexists in ARGs with Potential such that topics associated with each can be easily identified. -xnbomb

IF you substitute Rob's name, but it's not implied anywhere in the trailer or websites that we'd have any reason to do so. He's not even wearing those trendy little "jesus sandles".

1. Posted 7/2 or 7/3, subject to debate, 7/3 being the night of the debut of the trailer. Theory is that the picture was posted 7/3 for that reason.
Shows two girls, believed to be Lily Ford and Beth McIntyre. The timestamp on the picture is 1/18/08 12:36A
Correction, it's Lily Ford and Marlena Diamond.

Now, now everyone this is not for speculation...wouldn't want to make tygr20 mad or anything!
Interesting theory about the god thing though, lol! But, Ecks51 is right, there are no Jesus Boots to be seen

Over exposed, very white photo. 4 people are visible, but basically only their outlines. Presumed destruction in the background. It's been determined there is nothing to see in this picture, it just keeps the timeline moving. The timestamp on the picture is 1/18/08 12:48A.
i'd like to correct this if i may, while it does look like there is nothing of merit in this image, if you put it into photoshop or similar and darken down the image the man at the back in the middle( i assume its a man, sorry) appears to be ina position of holding or aiming a rifle, his right arm is out at an angle and is bent (you can see his elbow), his left arm is covered by his body but judging by the shape of his left sholder it would suggest his arm is being held out in front in the position to support the front section of a rifle/shotgun, the other figures are all running towards the camera he is not, instread facing towards what ever is coming in this direction. also his aim seems high which reinforces the hight of the monster
other than that yes there is nothing much to this image.
