Seriously, some of the people who read this forum really need to invest in some tin foil hats so they can fit in with the rest of their peers.

Haven't we got passed the religious theories yet?

Well, they are on tour again... Smile

Didn't run a whois yet, but I destegged one the images and found this hidden image:

Until we have the solution everything is only theory. But at least people are thinking and trying to make sense of the clues, even if others think they are way off base.

I've noticed a great many people that post here don't post ideas or theories of their own, they only make fun of other peoples ideas and theories.

I personally don't think Paramount would release a movie that contains a storyline about religion, but thats just me. If others do then they are perfectly entitled to think so.

I think part of the "making fun" stems from the fact that a large portion of people who post these kind of theories are belligerently stupid attention whores completely unable to engage in debate.

And we don't need to have our own theories to criticize others'. I'm not a geologist, but if someone claims that the Easter Bunny created the world from delicious Cadbury cream eggs, I am going to point out how ridiculous that is.

I agree that common sense comes into play a great deal with the theories, especially completely absurd ideas as like the easter bunny creating the world example. Common sense tells us that thet easter bunny didn't create the world.

Yet, I've seen some people post some ideas that may have merit only to have them shot down by someone whose only rebutal is "That's wrong and you're stupid."

I agree some people get on here to post anything with the "look at me" mentality, both people with ideas and people who only want to shoot down any idea. But if someone has a reason why they think their idea is a good lead, I do think someone should be able to give a good reason why they think it's not true.

And I do think a person needs to have a theory to criticize others.

I'm one of the ones with a theory - a completely goofball theory that hangs loosely off the facts - and yes, it's a mildly religious one (Hinduism). My reasoning is that no, I don't for a moment think this will be a spiritual film. Big monster, New York go splode, please pick up your brain as you depart the theatre. But kind of like other works (SIGNS, which works from both a faithful/atheist perspective), there may be symbolism there to play with. That is a befrigged big 'may' there, though.

Well, you're wrong. I know I don't have enough information to have a detailed "theory" as to what the plot of this movie is. That doesn't mean that I shouldn't point out that neither does someone else, especially when their particular "theory" is "creative" in the extreme.

I disagree with you. You and I both agree that neither of us has enough info to have a detailed "theory" as to what the plot of the movie is. Therefore, what makes either of us think we are qualified to tell someone else they are right or wrong about their idea? Who knows a what a bad idea is if we don't have an idea of our own?

We do have the facts that JJ has told us with his own words that this will be a new monster. He called King Kong and Godzilla things like "cute" and "charming". He is going to make a "new" monster. So anyone that says "It's going to be King Kong, Godzilla, Cthulu, Satan, Voltron" or so on, is indeed wrong. There is nothing wrong with us pointing that out and leading a person to a correct path. Like that person that started this thread said he thought it sounded like Genesis was said instead of Jason. The second response was a guy calling him a nut. That was tame in comparison to what many have been called on here.

My whole point is not a discussion of validity of ideas, but the lack of respect to people who are off track, or have out of the box ideas. Instead of just calling them a nut or idiot, they could be pointed in the right direction.

Genesis...
5 Months to the film...anything can be in game, don't be so quick to judge.

I have to agree, why don't some of you who just WAIT for someone to post a theory, that just happens to not be exactly what your theory is, start posting some ideas? And can we please stop saying, "well, JJ said..." of COURSE JJ SAID.....it's his job to create mystery and to throw us off, if the man came on stage and said..."Yes, it's a Cthulu Vs. Robot Godzilla with Jesus at the controls"...it wouldn't be much of a mystery or game now would it???
Are any of you stupid enough to think that he would come out and tell us where to start looking? Honestly, this is my first attempt at an "ARG", but some of these posts from people who say, "Oh, no...it's not religious, it's not this or that....JJ SAID SO" blow my mind!! I must not be the only first timer.
Did any of you ever stop to think that "Genesis" may be a device, or some type of control unit that Rob & Co. are privy to?
I can CLEARLY hear someone ask about Jason,yes... and at almost the EXACT same time a male voice say "Has anybody seen Genesis?"
It may only be a nod to the first book of the Bible, and have no other religious meaning whatsoever, (NASA does it ALL the time...) a modern take on the Apocalyptic style film we will all be seeing on 1-18-08. Whatever the case, I have read some posts of people ripping other peoples ideas to shreds, that I have researched IN DEPTH and found out to be valid and in game. Some are FAR FETCHED as heck, so Im not stupid enough to post them here or anywhere just yet. We have 5 months to go, and people are already getting itchy for clues. There are PLENTY of sites that are IG, PLENTY. Some have been brought up, and quickly denounced by the almighty JJ Said-ers, I don't listen to them, I research the sites, and the clues are there, not in STEGGED pics, or Code, most people don't know how, or have the kind of time that takes do do all that crap...JJ does know that. Not saying that there aren't any of those, but when you have to resort to hacking and pulling code, it leaves the realm of being a game. It's like throwing dynamite in a fish pond...that ain't fishing.
With an open mind that anything can be in game, I have found 8-10 websites that are connected. Some subtly, some not so, and it will all come out. But don't wait on JJ to tell you about them...cause he ain't gonna.

I didn't call him a nut. I simply used information from the creator himself, to let the original poster see how his idea contradicted what is to be taken as fact. I ain't callin' nobody no names. :\

[Edit]Annunaki: It's Abrams job to tell us things, sure. To tell us things in such a way as to keep a mystery going? Yeah, that plausible too. But if he out right tells us that it's NOT this or it's NOT that, then it's the truth. I don't think he'd lie directly to us. That's a slap to the face, and when you're pumping up for your movie, you want to keep as many as your target audience as you can. You are right that Genesis could be referring to a device or such, or someone could be asking another party-goer, on the topic of concerts, if they saw the band Genesis. We really don't know.
