Okay, since I'm a very visual person, I have some pictures (and observations).

The first one shows the location of all the small and large stars, the second one singles out the small stars on the first label. I also noticed that the small star pattern is identical to the larger star pattern minus the two rightmost small stars (which are missing from the larger pattern). Also and more importantly, if you overlay the numerical sticker over the mayan sticker THERE ARE NO LARGE STARS MISSING!!

Here's the link, but I've been thinking...maybe when the letter says

"The sun god was here"

he means in Montana? Is there a sun god of some sort in Montana? I know it's a stretch...but what are we left with?

Also, If you connect the stars that are missing in the first set of bar codes, it makes a symbol. A mayan symbol? Dunno...

Well, I don't know about giving up per se, but we could certainly use a little push in the right direction.

I think we have a better chance of figuring this out if we don't 1-18-08 it, for example, the postmark and addy not matching I posted on earlier and now it's being reposted, I don't care that somebody else noticed it too, it just means people are already not reading the thread. Please the worst thing we can do to ourselves is create a gargantuan unreadable thread.

With that said I have written to a few barcode companies to find out if there has ever been a barcode that has stars printed in it. I'm going to be away most of the weekend so I give this suggestion, find a barcode forum, and ask some questions, it may turn out the stars are not a clue at all, they may actually be a part of some barcodes, we need to rule this out before we run off in the wrong direction, once again turning this into an unreadable gargantuan thread.

cool beans, peace.

Lame Deer, MT.
Population

Just brainstorming so, The majority of the population in Lame Deer is Native American. 74.5% being Cheyenne which is the largest percentage in the U.S.

Carry on.

Maybe people just need more time to look at this. The fact it hasn't been solved yet makes it interesting. It just arrived yesterday, I don't think we will be getting hints 24 hours after the puzzle shows up. We want a chance to figure it out. Smile

Take a deep breath, relax, we'll get there.

if that happens we can deal with it.

Honest, I promise. Smile

i definitely agree with gcdoa... id rather bang my head against a brick wall, than have to read all of the 1-18-08 threads from start.. we should gather what clues we have so far, add a couple of educated guesses and see what we can debunk or clarify from there...

stars

Figured I'd help with some Photoshopping.

1. stars from number barcode.
2. stars from Mayan barcode.
3. stars that dont repeat between the two.

Oddly, the #3 picture looks like the common "top down" view of a drawn bumble bee.

Since I had the image already, I went ahead and made the largeer stars more prominent in the third image. If it'll help I'll post it, I just dont want to LOAD the board with useless posts. (If its wanted, I'll repost it here in an edit.)

Here it is.

OOPS!!! My bad! I missed one! Fixed! LOL! Good eye, Smooth!

well it definitely wouldnt hurt.. if this could be a lead, it would be a good idea...

EDIT: SOrry for the dbl post.. i shoulda added this as an edit to the last post..

EDIT2: Is it me, or does one of the round stars look alot more prominent than the others....almost like a planet?

Venus is a popular planet in Mayan culture...

Orion

My first thought was Orion but, there isn't anything that lines up with a picture of Orion except the three stars that make his belt.
