Ditto. False start, perhaps?
Was the header graphic always like that?

Okay folks. We have two threads now with the same topic. One is here in Potentials, one is in News & Rumors.
Can we have a ruling by the Forum Admins for which one to keep moving and which one to close & redirect?
Thanks.

Wait, what? *winks*
Okay. So I'm still not seeing anything new here. And, with all due respect to the PMs, finding the hook is usually a bit more... easy? Obvious?
I'm thinking someone went offsides here...

Addendum: Okay, I just tried calling Bennet's phone code. That number is (unsurprisingly) out of service.
Hmm....

So the news clipping from Central America isn't new? Its new to me. Someone care to translate? I could transcribe and use Google, but I'm sure it would be way easier for someone who actually speaks Spanish to do it.

OOh, couple of new items.

WHAT IS DEATH?
If the brain is like a computer, can the software... the mind... be installed on a new machine when the body gives way and dies? What if that mind is already in harmony with the world's computer systems?
I don't fully understand what has happened, but somehow, in some way, I am still here... with you.

RUMBLINGS FROM CENTRAL AMERICA
I picked up the following news story coming out of Central America. Something about it caught my attention. Maybe someone can help with an English translation that I can post on this blog. wirelessSPLAT samantha48616e61.com
I'm going to SPEC that this is our introduction to the new character this season, "Maya", a latina heroine.

I thought the thing about death was old. Was it not?

The article is talking about a town in the remote mountains of Mexico (or some other Spanish-speaking country) where all of the residents suddenly keeled over dead. If no native-speaker shows up with a better translation, I'd be willing to post my version (auto-translated by computer and judicious use of online Spanish dictionaries.)
Unless this "Maya" is evil, it's more likely that this is foreshadowing for the new season's Big Bad.

She wouldn't have to be evil to kill a whole town, just uncontrolled.
Peter nearly wiped out New York, and he's about as boy scout as they come.

Thought I'd post a full translation. Some of this might be a little off, but the main ideas are there.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Mysterious Deaths Ignite Rumors That Involve Cartel
San Jose of the Guaviare
All the inhabitants of a remote town located to the south of the Vaupes River were found dead by hikers who explored the mountainous zones of Chiribiqete National Park. The hikers, a man and a woman from the western United States discovered the macabre scene when they arrived at the town. They described it as "something that only the Devil could have done". The couple prefers to remain anonymous.
Exploring the scene in detail, they discovered dozens of corpses, which showed a film-like substance around the eyes.
"We saw the town from a mountain and as our water was running out, we decided to go down to refill". When we entered the place there were no signs of life. It was as if life had stopped and the world had followed its course".
Medical equipment was sent to the place, but has not yet determined the cause of the tragedy.
The area, that has for a long time been thought to serve as a hiding place to the Borjas Cartel, is well-known to be rich in natural resources.
Many of the natives who inhabit these regions speculate that residents of the town was used as laborers in the dispute between the Borjas and a group of constructors who tried to take control of the remote region.
As of publication of this article, no survivors have been found.

This may be nit picky, but Chiribiqete National Park is in Colombia. As I understood it, Colombia is in South America, not Central America.
Edit : also any guesses on who the American couple were that found the village?
