I've seen pages 1-5, 18-20, 29, and 47-51. Pages 4-5, 18-20, 29, and 47-51 have all been restricted.

I dont think that its going to give us an IP...I believe that its just giving us something to work at until they release a crappy way to open server 4...They are making the openings easy enough to where you can hop right into the game and get it except for server 1 with the comic and stuff...server 2 and 3 have been lame openings...

I agree. bungie wants to make as much money as possible. therefore they will make this "ARG" as easy as possible and won't make it that hard to open the server.

Can anyone get a clear read of the note for image 1, It's too blurring for me to make out the whole thing, but I did see a reference to a wave formation

The evolution of wave function determines probabilities associated with operator H. These will have different positions and velocities within the wave train.

I combined the ASIN with the ISBN (http://206.16.223.65/B000RGSYWI) and got a The Page Cannot be Found error...

Could be Server 04's subdirectory, and it just isn't up yet.

Couple of interesting points on the book...

Pages 2 and 5 are blank. 2+5=7

The pages between sections (according to the table of contents) are:
23, 19, 28, 11, 19, 11

Maybe it's just my lack of understanding, but the image and caption seem to have nothing at all to do with what the rest of the text talks about...

Has anyone gone and seen if anything from server 1 has changed? It may be that the isbn is the server address simply so we can know the Amazon page is in-game, but given that the book excerpt talks about the scientific value of revisiting old assumptions/experiments/observations, and that the ip address is part of the book-on-display, and the whole confounding 1/5 mixup (i.e. 1 and 5 being beginning and end in a heptalogical (sic) number system), I'd think it might be worthwhile.

I'm unfortunately not as familiar as others are with the material on the website so while I will go look when I get the chance it might not be a bad thing for someone more intimate with server 1's info to check it out, if they felt like it.

I think that this is definitely worth a try. Mb someone who is really familiar with Sever 1 stuff could take a look.

Wow! What a response today. How did you all hear about the Castaway Theory? Is it being taught in University?

This is crazy!

When Jonas started this study he never thought it would garner public attention. I am sure that all your interest would make him very happy.

From the sounds of his posts, it seems like Jonas is dead.

just thought i'd add this, at the moment I can't see how it's relevant, but the image posted earlier has the notations "trapped light cone" and "singularity horizon", which is black hole terminology.

Maybe a black hole is the only place to escape Halo's pulse... then again, you would be crushed into a ball the size of a grain of sand... Then again, the Forerunner did have anti-grav technology, so they might be able to survive.

btw, Nothing has changed in Server 01 that the eye can see.

Rush thats only in theory, and also we don't know what happens inside a black hole, and who says you need to be inside the black hole, or even the past the Event horizon the gravity near it may alter the universe enough to allow you to survive.

Maybe bungie is hinting that we need to re-use some elements from server one with Jonas' book.
Maybe that's where we had to go in the first place, not to hawking's book...although that would rule out the page 108 coincidence...Maybe theres sever numbers in hawking's book like there was in Jonas's, in the copyright info.
Maybe if i keep speculating to myself, the next server ip will jump out at me.
Maybe Stephen Hawking is the gravemind.

-.-

obviously that was a joke...I dont really think Stephen Hawking is a giant, tentacled, superintelligent parasite bent on universal domination. Off topic though: Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart both had episodes making fun of hawking. Disrespectful? yes. Funny? indeed.
