MEATLOAF

Paradise by the Dashboard Lights ... Meatloaf? Bat Out of Hell? Surely I'm not THAT old? Am I? Really?

Off to go polish my vinyl collection. *sigh*

Today when I talked to CW he asked me to meet him at the Beaverton Transit Center at 7:30pm and I did. The above post are the files from the disc he gave me.

I drove over to the transit center a few minutes early hoping to get a glimpse of him before the meet, but from where I parked I couldn't see him. As I walked across the train tracks I had visions of being dragged off into the bushes, but no such luck.

CW was waiting for me under the clock where he said he would be. Since I didn't know if I was being followed I pretended to ask for directions. When I told him who I was he wanted to frisk me to make sure I wasn't wearing a wire. (ya right). After I convinced him I wasn't wearing a wire, (and no I didn't let him frisk me) we started walking and talking.

This guy is very paranoid. He told me that TOBI has become self aware and that's basically why the government wanted him. The government is not going to use him to fight terrorism, but to find information on its own citizens.

I asked him if he knew who Malynn Wilbur was, he told me she used to work for the DOD and that Marty is trying to find her. Apparently she has some information that he doesn't want to get out. So he wants to hush her up. So according to CW we are being used as pawns to find her.

CW also told me that during the time he was at MIT he also worked for the DOD, he worked on writing an artificial intelligence program. I think thats why Marty, Jude and Marcus asked him to be their doctorate mentor. I got the impression that they used some of his work to come up with TOBI.

The rest of our conversation was just more of his paranoia about big brother. He truly thinks that by signing those agreements with Ideltech we are selling our souls.

When I left I could feel him watching me and as I got into my car I caught a glimpse of him staring at me. Good thing I used my sons car.

If I can think of anything else I will edit this post.

EDIT* Please don't tell Marcus that I met with the professor. Thanks

Poking about with the stuff on the disk I've pulled up the following.

1) when viewed in a text editor WillRodd.jpg and HubaHuba.jpg have the following strings within them. Any ideas if this is significant?
()*456789:CDEFGHIJSTUVWXYZcdefghijstuvwxyzƒ
()*56789:CDEFGHIJSTUVWXYZcdefghijstuvwxyz

2) HubaHuba.jpg also contains the following META data.

Camera_model=Sunny3SR
Firmware_version=V0.640
capture_mode=0
strobe_mode=1
image_size=640x480
optital_zoom=100
digital_zoom=100
take_time=14:11:58, 11-0, 104
date_stamp_mode=0
white_point=139, 255, 204
black_level=0
BV=-1641
aperture=4500
exposure_time=33333 us
ISO=200
flash_time=94
focus_mode=0
focus_metering_mode=1
object_distance=0 cm
focus_reliability=0
lens_position=0
freq_&_factor=(7000000 - 648743)
irp_edge_enhance_threshold=14

3) A copy of lawsofpower.pdf can be found here www.castlarp.com/lawsofpower.pdf . I think it's the same version as authors are down as Alex and Johanna on both versions. There are a couple called Alex and Johanna on the net who are into (Live Action Role Playing LARP). Could this be a chink in the curtain or just one of those things?

4) When viewed in a text editor paradise_dash.mid contains the following
Copyright © 1996 Steve Day - sad001SPLATccnet.com

Personally I'm not sure that any of this is of use but I you may know better

ps is postscript format. You'll need a Postscript viewer like Ghost Script and GSviewer. In the mean time I'll repost it as a pdf, enjoy the read.

To view the swf, open a browser window (know it works in IE, but not sure about others, these days), and then drag and drop the file into the new window. You should see it there. You can also find the file at the following URL: http://surface.yugop.com/

Click the third little circle from the bottom, labeled "Industrious Clock". I believe they're just the same.

very nice

Very nice work folks - I'm hard pressed to keep up!

I think that vertthum.jpg is actually frames from a film all put in sequence, but the quality is not there for me to recognize it yet. The coloured portions in the middle may hold the first clues. I'll work on it in Photoshop and see what I come up with.

Per chat last night and per post above, we're caught up with what enaxor knows about the disk: nada. And BTW Shelina, sorry to hear about your situation. I wish you lots of luck!

I think you're right. I'd start with Tarantino films, I think.

Finally ... enaxor gets huge cookie for going to meet the Prof in what sounds like a dark alley at night. Extra chocolate chips. You got brass, girl.

For folkes like me who had to be talked through opening up this file, here are the pictures that were inside. The flash (.swf) file is just a fancy clock that reads your computer's time and date and shows it with nifty little hand-written graphics.
