That symbol from what i've read is an alchemical symbol of geometric shapes becoming one.

EDIT: I'm thinking the code on the letter is not base 64.

The symbol on the key could be a number of things.. but when shifted into its upright position it looks as though its an inverted triangle with a circle contained inside... i read a website earlier but lost the link to it.. i managed to copy it before it was accidently lost though so here is one supposed defination of the inverted triangle/circle

1.) inverted triangle w/ circle inside: 30:30 � According to Diderot's a sign for or de mine, gold from mines.

2.) another posibility would be the "All Seeing Eye" which a link for it is here:

maybe her name is the key or 23.....

Ok, options of the key so far:

Bergle
23
solomon
red fire
trinity and eternity
evocation (from solomons circle used to evoke the 73 demons or whatever)
Possible backwards code

I can't today.. (mybe tonight) but could someone try reversing the code (making sure you break the lines where they are in the book) and sending it through ROT 23

and then both forwards and backwards, use the above clues as the key for substitution ciphers?
