Mabye they will sacrifice themselves so the flood can't make any more hosts.

I have no idea how BarfingKitty found it in relation to the human project.

I know I'm biased, but I like my halophile theory better, it works more with the information we have and aligns better than the human DNA. (I mean, "halo-phile"? Come on!)

This is too short to be the sequence for most organisms. Bacterial genomes are about 4 million base pairs, this is about 17,000. However, it could be a virus, which the Flood act like. But most likely it's just a sample of the sequence like the file name says.

ok, even if it's a sample, i still can't find any lines at all.

Thats prolly not even one chromosome, The entire Human Genome has over 3,000,000 letters in it. so that maybe one gene or trait

In the Genesis Code ARG messages were encoded in DNA code that looked like this. Has anyone tried to decode this in the same way?

You mean like look at the single-letter protein codes? I thought about it, but that would take for-freakin ever by hand.

Let me see if there's a program that does that.

Edit: I tried all three reading frames in both directions, didn't see anything unusual. If anyone else wants to play with it, the program is http://www.ebi.ac.uk/emboss/transeq/.

This genome appears to be identical to that of a species of alligator, Alligator sinensis, except for the first 15 nucleotides: http://www.genome.jp/dbget-bin/www_bget?refseq+NC_004448

The first 15 nucleotides code for these 5 amino acids:

Valine (caa → guu)
Asparagine (ttg → aac)
Proline (gga → ccu)
Glutamic acid (ctt → gaa)
Serine (agc → ucg)

There are more differences than that, there are about 30 characters that are different. I've noted the changes on the args.halo.org forums.

Hope this helps,

I'd like to point that it codes of mitochrondrial DNA of that alligator species, not the alligator itself.

Has anyone grabbed the dna sequences shown in the server 05 video? they are above the text in the image. Also there is the scope image of what looks like audio playing to the right of it.

Or perhaps this is flood compatible sequences, it would explain why only human and elites have turned into hosts. they could both share this in common.

Then maybe both elite and human are both of forerunner influence/descent, approximate same build, size, intelligence, etc. With forerunner influence spread throughout the galaxy, maybe both were meant to find the trail and in the end, combined, can defeat the flood. Sort of sappy, and convenient, but hey, it fits.

Actually, the others can host the flood too. Grunts and jackals just become the carrier forms instead of combat forms. We don't know about brutes because we never saw them get infected in Halo 2 but maybe in Halo 3

human genome

i have some textbook knowledge of dna and viruses and i know that with a virus, and some bacteria(correct me if im wrong), their dna is a single strand and it loops. so no matter how big it might be, parts would repeat or would be the same. thats not so in the sample. i think that there is another possibility. if youve read the books skip this part

in the 3rd and 4th halo books, they explain that SG Johnson(from halo 1) has this syndrom that disrupts the electrical signals in his brain, or some thing like that, but it caused him to be immune to the flood and thats how he survived.

maybe this is a section of the requirements to be a reclaimer, to be immune to the flood, as in have that syndrome to fight them off. the forerunner knew this from the start since they left behind the halos and guilty spark. since the forerunners had a plan, it had to be stored somewhere, guilty spark, and the other ai's at the other halos. along with the ark, the "sword and sheild will protect the reclaimers and destroy the flood to create a new future" quoting the 4th book. the ark is supposed to protect the reclaimers while the halos are activated. this DNA strand could be the part that the elites and the humans find out in halo 3. we know thta they team up eventually, maybe the "reclaimer" is a race, or two that is supposed to start over to save the universe from the flood.

combine the videos from the 4 servers.

1:the flodd are alien but smart

2: this wasant supposed to be this bad

3:this is my last resort

4:where did the flood come from
sums it up and maybe the halos is the last resort, since the forerunners dird, leaving us all of this.

last thought, if the covenant or the humans never found halo, the flood would never have been released. if this is so, why did they do all of this in first place already knowing who we were and what we were capable of, and just make sure we didnt find the halos?
