Ok, i was wondering if Vigenere Cipher would work if the title the hammer was translated into French? Just a thought.

how convenient this upright pentagram and the earlier symbol of the triangle/circle, are both located on one picture...

I added the pic as an attachment.. here is the paragraph that went above and below the picture..

above..

Quote:
Celtic Christians and other Christian mystics used the pentagram to symbolize the five virtues of the seeker of the Holy Grail...............

By the Middle Ages, the pentagram had become a general symbol of spiritual wisdom and truth, and it was marked on doorways and windows to keep evil out of the house. There is evidence that the old village witches made use of the pentagram, which they called the Witches' Foot, the Druid's Foot or the Goblin's Cross. The Church decided it was no longer proper for Christians to use the symbol after the Christian Inquisition began burning village wise women and identifying them by the sign of pentagram. After the invention of the printing press and subsequent publication of Agrippa's Occult Philosophy and numerous magickal grimoires, the pentagram became a popular symbol of occult knowledge.

below...

Quote:
One of the last major developments in the use of the pentagram came when the French occultist Alphonse Constant (Eliphas Levi) introduced the upright and inverted use of the pentagram. Levi used the upright pentagram to represent the race of man created by God, while he used the inverted pentagram to represent the demonic race created by the Angel Samael and Lilith.

oh ya, almost forgot to add the link to the page:

http://www.nightwing.awebspider.com/pentagram1.htm

EDIT: oh wait.. I just read that a penagram is just the star... a Pentacle is the star with a circle around it.. that makes more sense.. has anyone tried "pentacle" as a keyword?

Maybe there are hints in the first letter on how to solve this puzzle.

Brent wrote about how he keeps thinking it goes back to his country of origin, France. Do you think the code could have something to do with the street that the original coordinates gave us?

THE HAMMER had spoken:"

AS SOON AS THE CHILD IS BORN THE MIDWIFE, IF THE MOTHER SELF IS NOT A WITCH, CARRIES IT OUT OF THE ROOM ON THE PRETEXT OF WARMING IT ,RAISES IT UP AND OFFERS IT TO THE PRINCE OF DEVILS

Such was her fate.

 Which Cipher did you use?

Where did you get th pigpen cipher that you used. I got mine from wiki and that is how I came up with all those random letters.

Cipher

There's a good one at www.purplehell.com. It's got GREAT tools for this stuff, but there's a few variations of the pigpen. I got the same thing pretty much at the same time with that one.

Pronouns

So, this "she."

From what did "She" escape?

Is "She" the midwife, or the mother, or the newborn?

What else do we still need to figure out?

I think she is the mother and my explanation is:

The symbol at the bottom of the page is a pentagram.... one of those upside down is the symbol for the devil but right side up is the a symbol used by christians to protect their homes. Maybe they saw this symbol and did not kill her because they thought she was a christian.

Pentacles

Also (and if you've read the Da Vinci Code or studied symbology) it's the ancient male and female symbols combined, or the Sacred Feminine, or Venus. In that respect, I would agree that "she" is the mother.
