Haha yeah do it, this is the hardest puzzle yet.

As for the John Wilkes Booth one maybe that one doesn't count as it's the only one without a number crossed out next to it? It's a bit of a leap but maybe there to throw us off the scent? Will look at the theodoric one...

Will have to wait till i get home from work to get into second life, i haven't met Tigereye yet Sad Is metaversatility an original zone just for the nines or just a section of it? I'm not familiar with second life and found navigating it quite tricky!

oooh!

found this

http://historymedren.about.com/library/who/blwwtheogrt.htm

This one says he died august 26th! Either someone who did the wikipedia entry got it wrong or deliberately changed it?

Also..if you type john wilkes booth born august 26 you will find a couple of web pages which state that he was born at that time such as

http://www.brainyhistory.com/events/1838/august_26_1838_50790.html

I know that 90% of the entries that come up when you google it say May 10th as his birth date but maybe whoever wrote the list saw these entries rather than the others? I'm thinking now that they are supposed to be august 26th dates...

Now this is all probably totally wrong but this is how i have looked at the puzzle it seems to be a tricky one.
Anyone else notice that on the front of the magazine in the living room there is an article about Ryan Reynolds running off with the gay director of his latest movie? One of the characters in the film looks like a director to me, just thought it was quite funny.

Look in the upper right hand corner... same article.

http://www.advocate.com/

It appears to be a gay/lesbian alternative lifestyle magazine.. wonder what it all means?

EDIT: Why does Wikipedia say John Wilkes Booth was born on a different day than August 26?

Quote:
John Wilkes Booth (May 10, 1838 – April 26, 1865)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wilkes_Boothe

EDIT2: Heres another one that says a date other than August 26...

Quote:
John Wilkes Booth was born on a farm near Bel Air, Maryland, about 25 miles from Baltimore. His birth date was May 10, 1838. He was the 9th of 10 children of Junius Booth and Mary Ann Holmes

http://home.att.net/~rjnorton/Lincoln72.html

I agree with Wildfire. Whoever looked up Booth, saw one of the pages that said August 26. (possibly by googling august 26)... but that idea still bothers me because this game seems to be well thought out, and a mistake like this doesnt seem to fit...

Anyways, gonna recheck John Augusts site for possible clues

Also, to your question WildFire, Im guessing MetaVersatility is owned and operated by the designers that are producing the Nines Puzzles..

NEW PUZZLE PERHAPS?
could this be puzzle four?

Check on the kitchen counter, there is a piece of paper that could be the fourth puzzle....

Quote:
it has four pictures of citie scenes, the last of which looks to be a city in a game.. most likely Second Life. (Dublin? Most definitely)

the words underneath the picture say:

Quote:
North, SLouth, East, West, four cities in the image rest
O'er mountain, hill and - dale appear, places to gather when the
999 - 9(1?) day draws near

Couple of things to note:

- There is an "L" added into South for some reason...

- The word O'er could be a reference to the accent of the Dubliners..

- all the dashes ( - ) are blue

- The 999 -9(1?) is written as 999 - 91 or 999 - 9(I or l) its hard to tell really... my guess would be "999 - 91"

- The word "Gather" leads me to believe this may be a hint for puzzle three instead of an actual puzzle in and of itself?

Im gonna try to attach the photo i took... if its not clear, look at the kitchen counter in Second Life. Its there plain as day.

SL is the shorthand way to refer to Second Life. Sounds like we need someone in the SL versions of Dublin and those other cities on 8/26.

I don't think that's a solution to Puzzle 3.

The Nines
Second Life House

Hi coffeegirl ... click on search and choose 'all' then type in 'look for the nines' .. without the quotes and it should give you a location you can teleport to.

I can't access SL from home (wonderful Vista X64) ... so will have to check out the pic in the kitchen and Dublin at work tomorrow. Grrr

Thanks, I just figured out another way to get there and to Dublin.

I'm on right now as Chloe Rabeni, say hi if you see me.
