Altrus - no reason to get snippy about it. Just gently poke the nice person with a

and kindly link him/her to the first time that particular item was discussed. Yelling FAKE all over the place makes you (and uF) look angry and unfriendly.

You know this topic much better than most of us mods, so if you know for certain it was discussed elsewhere, lead the new folks appropriately. Providing the actual link to the post you are talking about it how everyone learns (and then new folks will read the previously posted stuff). Just yelling about using the [search] and not showing the person WHERE to find the information, is like a school yard bully going "nah nah nah nah".
