this is all pure speculation...but perhaps because the title of it is "Believe" then perhapps master chief doesn't die...but goes missing, or vanishes due to halo related circumstances, as in, "Believe MC is still out there"...but whether he lives or dies, this poster is still a major spoiler... because the date is years after halo 3, it means that the halos aren't fired...and the flood was still defeated.

Or it means that all the people went into the ark and were saved from the halos firing

It's not a spoiler read Bungie's weekly update, here's the quote.

" There are no spoilers of any kind in the marketing. You have my guarantee"

So no need to apologize.

More likely he is believed to be dead. Think harder about this people. Yeah, they're just going to make ads about him dying...that's totally Bungie.

 Sept 26th

I do find that date curious though. Halo one and two were during the year 2552 and Halo 3 was mentioned at the unveiling that the game starts in early 2553. Which puts this date at three years after halo 3 (as far as we know of course) now that seems a little early to hold an anniversary celebrating the life of someone like that. Normally (And bear in mind I might be wrong) a big event like that would be held maybe five or ten years after a death?

Also also wik: September 26th? Given it's a day after halo 3's release date? Hmm. That seems too close to be a co-incidence. Still, what it means at the moment is anyones guess.
September 26th is the european release date of halo 3 if tht ansears your Q

I saw that in the booklet too. I went to the Tampa show, and they had "Halo3" projected really dimly/subtly at the top of the amphitheater framework. I was freaking out looking for more stuff...which I never found.
