[META?] A few things!!!
were these questions ever answered?

Sorry if this isn't a META topic, but I wasn't quite sure how to classify it. Just a few questions, first one to the moderators of this forum. Do you guys (and/or girls) not have the power to ban users or wipe threads that have been abused? No offense here, I do find unfiction to be the most valuable forum to do with ARG's and Cloverfield, but why has it become such a mess?
And whatever came of the Sarah Nettleute photobucket thing that Jamie Lascano uses to host her pictures? Has anyone found anything of significance regarding this name or person? Also, is the person in the pic on Jaimes MS holding the sign "I am glad if I don't see you" this person - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=83646710 ? They seem quite similar and I know the question has been brought up but has it ever been confirmed if they are IG or not? Ok, I realize maybe this was pointless to start a new topic to ask these questions but I just can't come to terms with wading through all the garbage that has polluted this forum to find these answers ( the search function does kinda suck BTW)! One more thing I'd like to bring up is the style of this film. Was it ever officially confirmed that this entire film is going to be hand-held camera style ala Blair Witch? Because in the photos of the set filming of Rob and Beth(?) under the bridge you can clearly see there is a camera crew using multiple standard film cameras. Why would they be using actual film if the entire movie is meant to be from the hand-held perspective?

(edit to add one more question) I remember reading also that there were to be 4 taglines on the posters, thos being Monsterous, Furious, Terrifying, and Barberous!!! What ever happened to Barberous and where did that info come from? Could Barberous possibly be the title of this film? I really can't see this film being named after the monster if it is going to in fact be shown as a found footage, Blair Witch type of film because seriously... Is someone just going to be all like running from destruction and then be all like "Oh no, Gargamel is coming this way, run!!!"? Doesn't seem likely!

To my knowledge, and i am 100% sure, the 4 poster titles are Monsterous, Furious, Terrifying, and the final one is blank.

AICN tipsters can be wrong.

Unless the monster is a rampaging pair of hair clippers, I'm assuming you mean Barbarous.

While I'm not moderating in the 1-18-08 threads, I think can answer your question. UnFiction does not erase threads (unless they are posted by spammers - bots & people popping into the forums to post links to websites completely unrelated to ARGs/CF/gaming). If a poster is being abusive or inappropriate - we try to gently remind them of the TOS (usually with a private message, but sometimes you'll see a moderator edit in a post that points out the problem). If someone who has been warned continues to break the TOS, they are properly dealt with by an unFiction administrator. Yes, some IPs have been banned because of very inappropriate behavior.

We rely on you, the members/users of this forum, to help keep the threads on topic and everyone treating eachother with respect. The mess in 1-18-08 is largely because there is very little concrete information and TONS of speculation/red herrings/fan based creation/bored people. We have many new users who haven't had a chance to experience a real ARG yet. They are still learning how uF has organized threads in the past. But every experienced person (myself included) was new once. Some folks are better at reading around, learning the ropes and feeling out HOW to play in the designated field before they post. Others like to JUMP in, feet first (and forum guidelines/mores be damned). Same things happen in playgrounds all across the world.

Those who contribute to the noise will end up being ignored. Those who post thoughtful, meaningfull contributions, will be lauded. Hopefully, when the trolls are ignored, and there really aren't any puzzles to solve, they will just go away. Meanwhile, those who are really interested in the genre of ARGs will find a real ARG to play and stick around.

The "Barbarous" thing came from Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News. Harry's "spy" turned out to be wrong on that title, though, and also wrong on "Ferocious." The real posters were handed out to attendees at the Paramount panel at this year's San Diego Comic Con. The three posters were exactly the same but had a different adjective/title:

1) Monstrous
2) Furious
3) Terrifying

The other "official" movie poster was unveiled without a title, but looks exactly the same as the other three.

AICN was also wrong in that Knowles said one of the posters would have the movie title on it and that being "Colossus".

But as the above person said 3 with one word on them and 1 blank. Those were the posters handed out in San Diego.
