I think its still somewhat in debate. One party argues that since it's "your" happy talk, there is a feedback email, and certain emails reference pop culture (slusho is people = soylent green is people, are you one of us=ethan haas), its user-submitted. Others claim that it is completely made up by webmaster(s). A third party thinks that they're mixed. I count myself in that last group; some of the emails sound like too much effort for a user to submit, but others are just so blatantly amatuer and "look at me, I'm funny."

I say they're mixed. The Engrish on some of them is very similar to the Engrish on the site, I don't think many would take the time to be so... legit.

But does this just add to the legit factor. I know this may seem silly, but do they put these stupid ass quotes into happy talk to make it look good. Why would they hand pick those. The thames River one is throwing me for a loop. what idiot would send that. Theres got to be meaning in that one

If the Thames River does have anything to do with the movie, perhaps it means that the reason the creature comes to NYC is one of its young stuck in the hudson, either captured or by accident.

Yeah, I can see the logical discrepancy you're thinking of. However, when we found Slusho.jp, the Happy Talk section was not featuring any quotes. The site was, however, accepting feedback. So, you can see there's no logical impossibility there.

Which is not to say that all Happy Talk does come from us. As others have pointed out, I don't think there's any absolute proof of that. (Someone please correct me if that's wrong!)

Sorry, we know it's a donkey, not a mule, from when the flash was decompiled. It's named donkey.jpg or some such.

I partially agree, however the person who created the donkey.jpg could have misidentified the animal as a donkey instead of a mule in the naming process. It is quite simple to do since most people cannot tell the difference between the two. Or maybe the meant that a Donkey mates to "create" a "mule", so if we use the term "Mule" as it was formerly applied to; the offspring of any two creatures of different species - in modern usage, is a "hybrid". And if we take the term hybrid and apply this to what is on the site in either creatures or perhaps even words or items? So what items could we use the words or names of to make a hybrid word? Mitt, Cheese (or the "hole" in the cheese?), and hammer (tool or work?).
Hybrid could also be applied to "Hybrids in Mythology" as well.
Just trying to put some ideas out there to help out. Take it or Leave it, it's up to you.

Kobe earthquake in 1995
Located on Honshu

In 1995 on January 17th at 5:46:46 a.m there was a large earthquake in and around Kobe. I believe this ties Noriko Yashida (Kobe University). There is only so much coincidence. Kobe is located on Honshu. The earthquake relating to the reference from the trailer. Considering January 17th would have been the Jan 16th in the states kind of seperates the Jan 18th date a bit futher. Any ideas about 1995 anyone?

Ok, so for the sake of pondering, lets say that the Bloop on the slusho page is NOT put there by emails/Cthulu cultists, but instead is from the site. That HAS to raise our attention to the "bloops" discovered back in 97. Here's a CNN article (sorry if it's already been posted, I ran a search) http://archives.cnn.com/2002/TECH/science/06/13/bloop/

apparently there was another report in 2002 about it, but I've yet to find it.

Here is another thread where the bloop is discussed at the beginning.
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20209&start=270

As far as solving this whole question of is happy talk us or them, any ways we can test this theory? I was thinking bombard them with the same message from a ton of different people, but that will only work if it's automated. Any ideas?

I don't think it matters if happy talk if from us or them.

The fact that these messages are hand picked/created by the webadmins is enough to tell me that there are clues there that need to be looked at in greater detail.

River Thames Whale wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_Thames_whale) says:
Quote:
The whale appeared to have become lost, as its normal habitat would have been around the coasts of the far north of Scotland and Ireland, and in the seas around the Arctic Ocean.

On SLUSHO! history the secret ingredient needs to be kept super chilled as it was found at the bottom of the ocean.

And that Bloop link is just plain freaky --> http://archives.cnn.com/2002/TECH/science/06/13/bloop/ Shocked

This may actually be making sence. Possibly, A smaller version(s) of the apparent big monster gets suck in the river thames, for all to see. Its just there in the open. It kills a few people, causes some destruction, and the govt. takes it out, and covers it up. All thats left is a home movie. Years later they discover slusho, at the bottom of the ocean around england(also shot by handheld camera). While removing this from the ocena's depths, the siencetists wake up a massive monster, which is now looking for its child(ren). It goes to NY, where the slusho is being preserved at extremly cold tempatures, until rob leaves for japan and takes it with him on his plane. Watch the movie the Host. Its a good movie, and i think it will be simalar to cloverfield or whatever the name is.
