[SPEC]Bloopers were right? clues from updated slusho site Dennis at cloverfieldclues.blogspot.com posted the updated "Happy Talk!" page from the slusho page, and one of the sayings is "BLOOP!" and then thats it. Does anyone else remember the people who brought up the bloop theories a while back? bloopwatch.org and such? Could the Cloverfield monster be the Bloop monster?

I've had a theory going that the stuff on the Happy Talk page is just a select collection of quotes from email responses the 'Slusho' people got, which they've put up.
I certainly felt the 'bloop' theory was rather weak, to date. Like most things purported on 1-18-08News.com.

....or they might have included it because it was one thing that we got right.
1-18-08News.com wasn't the first to report the bloop, in fact I came up with it on my own quite early(from researching sea-monsters on Wiki) and then seen it was already being talked about.
If it is not connected to the sound it's just wrong to include that in one of the few legit sources of info. Out of the thousands of emails why throw in such a red herring...unless it's run by Jackasses.

That's how ARGs are run. This is from some post-ARG notes from The Lost Experience :
Creative Curiosity: Not all of questions need to be answered, and introducing a "red herring" can actually enhance the game experience (e.g. the vintage Jeep TV spot on youtube.com that didn't lead to anything, but did engage the gamers for some time). The key is to balance the dead ends with elements that keep the game moving.

i was excited about the new slushotalk until you said this; this definitely makes a lot of sense. though, a bottlenosed whale did swim up the thames recently; how odd.
if the slusho folks make this up, then they sure are mentioning whales a lot more. however, i feel you, sir, are right as the one is ridiculous and mentions the donkey and the frog and the duck and all this bs. sounds like stupid stuff fans would write in to try and trigger email responses from slusho that contain clues.

The happy talk says "like the whale that swam up the river Thames..." and "BLOOP!!" maybe the bloop creature got lost up the Hudson and gets spooked and destroys the city.

The whale was first spotted On "19 January reports from the Thames Barrier control team were made to the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) that one, or possibly two, pilot whales had come through the barrier. This turned out to be the Bottlenose whale, and BDMLR commenced monitoring the whale that evening" the day after jan 18

I think so too. Isn't it a talk back page?
[not to get off-topic, but the Lost Experience blog was a fan site about that game. I wouldn't quote it as an authoritative source, though, of course, their opinion is their opinion.
My opinion of this:
Quote:

is completely the opposite..adding things that don't lead anywhere just to keep people occupied isn't a valuable addition. It adds to frustration. Jeep was probably happy about it though if it brought traffic to their site.]

It's pretty clear that it's fan-submitted responses.

HOLY SHIT!!! They are NOT fan-submitted quotes!!! Do you think that everyone who sent comments to Slusho talks like that? Have you heard of anyone on any forum or anywhere at all saying "oh cool, that's my quote"? No you haven't!!! I'm getting sick of all this talk of certain aspects of this being fact when it is, in fact, specualtaion. Not even good speculation. The first time i read the Happy Talk I could tell it was written by the same people who wrote all the other shit on the slusho site. Give it up already all of you. Happy Talk is not user submitted!!!

I disagree. If you search back through the Slusho thread, I know there were at least a few people who'd submitted some of the Happy Talk quotes. It's terrific speculation.

OK This is how it works.
We send in quotes to them, they see some ones they like, and they throw it into the happy talk section. They also include their own random ones and throw them in

Thames River? No-one in London would say Thames River, we would say River Thames or just The Thames.
I am sure that quote wasn't writ by a Brit.

YOUR Happy Talk The title of the page is "YOUR Happy Talk", as in YOUR quotes. Obviously they pick the ones that they like, since they probably get tons of email, but only have 12-14 quotes at a time.
The dead giveaway that they are YOUR quotes - all the spelling errors "amanzing"? "bluberry"?
