Yeah, you obviously don't know how to use the search function on any of those sites either.

Why the fuck would I search for something now? I didn't start this thread and I don't really give a fuck if someone says they submitted one of the happy talk quotes because hey... I wrote the first ammendment!!

Would you grow up already you petulent little child... Inserting the word 'fuck' doesn't make your argument any more reasonable and it sure as Heck makes people less willing to tollerate you.

What's that old saying? A person who swears does so because they lack the proper vocabulary...

Look, I'm sorry if my earlier posts seemed a bit harsh and childish but I have just gotten so frustrated by the fact that this forum has become less reliable than even 011808news.com. Anyhow, for the millionth time now, Happy Talk is absolutely 100% NOT fan-submitted.

Proof?

See, I can be a jerk as well. You personally believe it's not user-submitted quotes, and that's your right... but you can't just go and tell the people who are convinced they are user-submitted quotes that they're completely and utterly wrong and just expect people to take that without providing a reasonable reason (No, I don't think "Nobody here has claimed to have had a message appear" is a good enough explanation, given the sheer numbers of emails they must have gotten).

Now personally, I don't believe the 'bloop' theory, never have. I finally listened to the sound and I was incredibly underwhelmed at how pathetic it sounded and at the idea of why so many people strongly subscribed to it... but that's my personal belief and I'm not gonna force it down everyones' throats. I don't believe the idea that the 1-18-08 photos were printed at Rob's party either but I digress...

Futhermore, under your complaint over the 'tripe becoming fact', just because you say it's not user-submitted material hardly constitutes as proof that they're not what we believe they are. But this has always been a speculation and I'm sorry you've gotten so bent out of shape over it and invested so much personal emotion into it.

For someone so sick of the state of affairs UnFiction is apparently in...

You can't seem to get enough of it. Wink

And it's spelt "genius"*. Smile

* Yes, I know... extremely underhand, snide, snarky and cocky.

Thames River...again

As i said on page one of this thread. People in England say River Thames, not Thames River.
So chances are that this quote is a FAKE.

Also just because it says "Your happy talk" doesn't necessarily mean it's actually OUR happy talk. What's so crazy about fictional feedback for a fictional drink?

Or that it was sent in by someone who isn't British.

But doesn't it say "...we want Slusho here in London"?
The implication is that it's a Londoner talking, and a Londoner wouldn't say Thames River.

To overanalyse, it could be an American in London.

I know it's reaching, and I don't believe a born and bred Londoner would say that either. Razz

Agreed, it could. But given that there are just about no hard facts in this game, you have to play the odds.
(Must go, Channel 5 News is on...)

I'm an American who lived in England (Manchester) for four years, and I knew before I got there that it is "The River Thames".

But this is nit-picking, isn't it?

EDIT: Just to clear it up though, I do believe that those are fan generated quotes. I thought it was settled almost immediately when they started.

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. Laughing

The only person claiming to know anything is 100% fact is YOU. I've given you "evidence" of why I think the happy talk is user submitted. You just choose to ignore it because you don't agree. They have an email address for "customer feedback", and they have a "YOUR happy talk" section.

I have one simple question for you, but I know you won't answer it:

Why WOULDN'T they use the customer feedback for the YOUR happy talk quotes?

Actually a better question would be why would they. Assuming this is an ARG, or even if it is just viral marketing, they want to move the game along. There not gonna put in any of our quotes because most of us are stupid and ignorant, and dont realize they are using us to make some serious $$$$$$. This is not for our entertainment, or their entertainment, they are looking to gain capital. I lost the list of original quotes. thanks to all those who posted them My bad. But if the happy page was added on July 27 and we could email them prior to that right? Assuming so, no one on this earth can claim to have submitted any of those quotes that first appered. You guys may have gotten lucky and yese, they may match up with what you sent, but come on dont give yourself that much credit. OK, maybe 5 quotes were from us but still you guys miss the point. They are trying to steer us in the right direction. Of course its river Thames, or just Thames in some cases. This is all about marketing. they did this to add to how realistic it makes the "game" seem. But really in either case this does not matter at all. This is just ramballing and fighting and yelling at GrOwLeR.

The Slusho! page was up and found with an e-mail addrs to send comments to before the July 27th updates. That was the day the Happy Talk and Flavor game was updated.

However, I'm sure there is a mix submitted and author created comments. Both of which are steering us in the right direction and giving a few red herrings.
