this theory seems plausible to me... it's odd how small the supporting details are, but there are sooo many of them that it could possibly have some merrit. - what i don't agree with is that it will be "kottos." abrams may have based the idea roughly off of his look and background, thus these 'homage clues' surrounding it. but i doubt it's going to be a fully pre-existing monster. we should all keep our eyes open for even more things that could support this theory... as it's all we have just now. except for that idiotic warbloid.com bullshit of course.

Good Theory Excellent theory, but im gonna have to disagree. JJ said we need our own monster or something along those lines, and thus, the monster has to have american origins, not ancient greek

that's pretty ridiculous. he's obviously going to reference pre-existing monsters from whatever mythology he wants. because he and his creative team think it up, it WILL be our version of godzilla; an american version. don't be so close-minded. if we stick to an american-only version, we'll be seeing a giant cheeseburger or a manifested form of laziness attacking new york.

Agreed. In fact King Kong wasn't American. He just died there...

bah if only the mule on the website was a goat
by the way a sea goat as you mentioned is also known as Capricorn if that rings any bells with birthdays or theories just throwing it in the pot

the more i thought about this theory, the more i like it. even though i don't think it will be kottos exactly, i'm definitely leaning toward the monster being a hydra. far too many references on the history page alone, in terms of all the deep sea shit and the clues the O.P. found. i also just read this on wiki: "Hydra, a station from the DHARMA Initiative on Lost."
i feel this theory is solid, partially because i like the idea of it, but also because the clues are so miniscule and not overblown as to make us know FOR SURE. otherwise why we would see the movie? all the other theories spell too much out and abrams definitely wouldn't even allow enough clues this far from release for that to be possible with the real story.
(plus if we all solidify a belief and make it known, maybe abrams will come out and straighten us on the right or wrong path... eh?)

Also because Kottos could be like a huge white blood cell tryning to wipe off the parassite (us, the people) who infest mother Gaia.
If hearth is a living being like in the Gaia theory, we are the infesting parasite that are killing her, so here came the medicine.
It Works!
That would be fairly ironic if all this time we were talking about the "parasite" movie and it turns out we are the parasites.
well that is quite a regular theory about humans, it has cropped up before in films, it was in transformers cos megatron thought of humans as vermin or parasites, and if you think of the term parasites take over and live of everything destroying it in the process, which is kinda what we have done.
Cue the "Agent Smith" speech.

Jsut doing a bit of reading about this theory and looking around i found this
http://briareus.net/briareus.html
and this picture is at the bottom

Briareus is one of Kottos brothers. Look a little like something we've seen before? Kinda like some robots/cyborgs we've seen on the slusho site just not as elaborate.

JJ Reads the first post, swears way to much. Throws all copies and starts over from scratch.
Oh yea, very very nice. Like it was said, you gave alot of very small information. Not a bunch of huge ones making us think it was this monster. But the little ones make you look over alittle bit more than you would like. Very nicly thought out.

I went to the slusho website and looked at the flavors. 4 of them had two names with the flavor in it. The two that didnt, Mikan and Nashi, confused me. Why wouldn't they have a second name for them? So I went to dictionary.com to see if i could find a definition. (remember this website is japanese, slusho). nothing came up, except a japanese spelling of each word. mikan - みかん nashi- なし. I went to this online translator and when I looked it said 'There is no tangerine'. I dont know if it helps, and im sorry if my spelling errors messed you up.
