lol ok u got me there..

hey guys, using picasa, I cropped out the line with just the text and sharpened, BW'd, highlighted, filled in light and shadows, but I had to save it as a JPEG just to show it on this post. If you want to be able to zoom in and see it a little better, simply right click the picture, click "save as" and change the file type as a bitmap (bmp). Once saved, open the bmp file on your computer and you will be able to zoom in, so here goes...( and remember im no pro at this , so if someone could do it better be my guess to tinker! lol)

sorry for the double post
i didnt want to add this above the attachment..

for some reason I got the feeling like the
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
symbol font
didnt fit the code perfectly. Upon further investigation, I came up with a more, fitting, fit..
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the greek alphabet
. It matches perfectly due to the fact that the letters are uppercase symbols at the beginning of a word, and lowercase at the end... ive only translated a few so far.. im not sure where exactly this will take us exactly, but it seems more suitable for the code.. (and this alphabet has less letters than the english one, so it cant be translated in that way..)

i really am stuck from here, but here is the first thirteen words at least..

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
word 1 (iota, eta, sigma)
word 2 (kappa, omicron, rho, eta, sigma)
word 3 (pi, omicron, lamda, xi(?), mu, (???), upsilon)
word 4 (kappa, upsilon, iota)
word 5 (tau, alpha(?), upsilon)
word 6 = Numitor
word 7 (omicron)
word 8 (pi, alpha, tau, zeta, rho, upsilon, sigma, tau, eta, sigma)
word 9 (kappa, omega(?!))
word 10 (omicron)
word 11 (pi, alpha, tau, epsilon, rho, alpha, sigma)
word 12 (tau(?), omicron, nu(?))
word 13 (pi, omicron, upsilon)

UPDATE: Myself and Forum just recieved a mail from brent which was a forward from a mail matron had sent to him... here it is:

got an email from Matron, it's a lot of info. Does anyone know Greek? And the P.S. is either meaning she knows something...or she really is psychic. Let me know what you all think.

Subject: Good afternoon, Brent.

I believe I have figured out why the clues thus far seem so detached from one another.

It is my opinion that Bergie was a Basque witch, fleeing the inquisitors with her young son (your predecessor to the Ambroise line). She left a series of clues as a sort of trail for her son to follow - that way, in the event any of the clues were lost or someone else thought they'd attempt to find the treasure, they'd have a very difficult time. One clue will always lead into another.

This current clue, dealing with Romulus and Remus, mentions Sybil, Virgil and Numitor. Virgil wrote The Aenid, which was centered around Aenas finding the Sybil who would predict his future. Perhaps the twins are somehow connected? And it seems to me, the text on the base of the statue is Greek. I do not know much of that language - my strengths are in proto-Celtic dialects..

Good luck.

~M.L.

PS - Also, in the event you answer another one of your mysterious phone calls, say nothing. It will be explained to you shortly.

hmmm interesting..

anyways, i guess its confirmed that its greek like i just guessed.. does anyone know how the hell to translate greek letters to english?!?!

I have to go in a sec, so if im not here, good luck lol

Virgil pretty much wrote the Aeneid to 'show' how the twins Romulus and Remus (and therefore the Roman people) were descended from the hero Aeneas. Kind of like how Shakespeare would write historical plays to please Elizabeth.

Geez, save yourselves some time, I said it was greek when I posted it this afternoon goofy. Thought you were quicker than that smooth. Laughing

Was hoping you would have translated it by now. Had to do laundry and scrub toilets.

But I can barely read the text, but what smooth had posted befoe seems to be close.

May email brent for a clearer copy.

First step...

Hey there, sorry I've been out of contact a few days, I've been without an internet connection (and the one I've got now is only slow Sad). I'm having the same difficulty as everyone else with the greek, but what I've got so far is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
της κορης πολεμου και του numitor ο πατερας της και ο πατερας ιου που καβοδηνηβηκαν ηιτ
δια οραματα η ετσι οχετικα με virgil όπου το sybil που ορίστηκε σιτο του καπνο του κoλπου

which comes out using babelfish as

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the girl of war and numitor her father and the father of virus that kavodinivikan ijt via visions ohetjka with virgil where sybil that were thus fixed his wheat tobacco of gulf

Now I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but I've got to go now so I was hoping someone could pick up where I've left off and finish it Wink.

ιου που καθοδηγηθηκαν απο δια οραματα η ετσι σχετικα με
virgil όπου το sybil που ορίστηκε σιτο του καπνο του κoλπου

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the girl of war and numitor her father and the father of virus that
was guided from via visions thus with regard to virgil where sybil that it
was fixed his wheat tobacco of gulf

Hi.

I'm not really playing Brent at this point, but I got talking to smooth on MSN. I forwarded the text to a Greek-speaking friend - if it is Greek, then we should get an answer. No idea when the response is coming though, so it's possible it will be solved by then.

If this is semi-Trout, don't worry - I haven't read any of the thread! Wink

So it's Greek but it's ancient Greek, my lj friend Mara worked out a bit of it. That's an exact quote from her comment btw.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's (ancient) Greek. I've only had two years of Greek at school, so I can't really make out what it's about, apart from that I think it's about Rhea Silva (tè korè - the girl) and possibly Mars/Ares (polemos - war -> god of war?), and Numitor, R&R's grandfather.

So that seems to make sense about the genealogy part.
