beyond that the site was registered before the others, what is our definitive proof that this is OOG or Legit? Does anyone have any proof going one way or the other?

I'm really sorry but people on this forum need to stop acting like lemming when it comes to declaring OOG, please people actually spend more time then just going to whois.com and getting the registration info.

Declaring a site is legit or not legit needs some more actual discussion then just some one saying: "GAME JACK LOCK THREAD" and that being the end of any research. While I too doubt the legitimacy of the site, I'm willing to linger on the forum there on the off chance that maybe abrams will post something their or that it might be real. Abrams was aware last time people hopped on the wrong ARG, and he notified someone about it, this leads me to believe that he is more then likely reading a select forums or blogs concerning the movie. If we get going down the wrong road again Abrams is gonna through us tell us were wrong again.

People have talked about how all of our real sites will be linked with in the sites we already have, but if you remember, We didn't get linked to any of the sites we have. They came from clues in the trailer where we searched teh internetz and found something. Personally the blog that linked to this site seemed like a reasonably in game site(I mean this isn't a very obvious hoax, if it is then who ever made it cares as much about the film as we on the forums do, and obviously has been paying attention to all the same clues we have since thats all I've found there so far). If the site proclaimed some strange theory on the movie, or claimed to have inside information I would be suspicious, but it doesn't. Instead we have a forum with the characters from the movie registered as posters, all posting in character. I'm sorry if one of the characters produces a typo, you people keep forgetting about that human error thing. Just because this viral marketing is professionally done doesn't mean their aren't people behind the curtains.

BTW For purposes of arguing the counter point to the registration date, this site could of been registered back when Abrams first got the idea for the movie, but was left undeveloped till now when he wanted to add another clue. Or perhaps it was registered to someone who is working on the campaign with abrams, and they donated the site to the cause.

I'm aware some of the people on this forum only skim long posts and don't actually read everything so my next statement is gonna be in caps so people do actually read it:

if you notice not everyone on that forum are characters from the movie, hell I've posted their a couple times and I'm pretty sure I make no guest appearances in the movie.
(If I do, abrams owes me some answers and a check)

"JJ" is ostensibly the character known on myspace as "Hawk." Since most of the posts by the characters do not refer to the future date of 1-18-08, I think it is a poor lapse by whomever is playing the gamejack to have him reference January. In a responding post, he says he was confused. Pretty lame. Rolling Eyes

heh to be honest I just read that post and yeah, I'll chalk that up to evidence of a hoax. Though since their isn't anything else to really research I'm gonna keeping checking in there.

The site being discussed in this thread was owned by a domain squatter for quite some time now, not sure how the current owner got ahold of it (previous owner didnt renew or sold it or the new owner is the squatter still.
