I laugh, chasingthefish.com I got an email from fishmasterSPLAT chasingthefish.com today:

Hey Ingrahausen,
Catch me if you can.

OK, whoever is responsible for this beauty, come forward and accept your prize. Chasing the Fish is one of the most creative and funny sites I've ever seen.
Reminiscent of troutmakers, it's an A1 quality parody site of Chasing the Wish. The trailer is so funny!
Oh, by the way, I think that the site comes from an article written for GuysGuise about it. You can read the article in the Features Section of Guysguise
Hopefully, this will continue to be an evolving site as CTW goes on.

I <heart> this site! This is the most brilliant parody I've ever seen. Thank you to whoever is responsible (and to Jon for sharing). The trailer is terrific and the music is way better. It's even pixelated! Too much fun.

Not in-game, but very in-funny. Registrar: GO DADDY SOFTWARE, INC.

Looks like they are updating it as well - click on the trout and get the info page. There's even a trailer (played beautifully in Real Player) with background music. I'm waiting for the merchandise page to go active.

Update Heh, new trailer (love the classical music they've got going there), new privacy page, and updated updates page.
After seeing that second trailer, I wonder if there is going to be a game involved here after all?

Oooohhh, they don't want us to figure out who they are; here is part of the privacy notice -
Quote:
The PuppetMackerels require privacy. We have a motto that cuts right to the heart of the matter: "When the boat's a-rockin', get the hell out of the way." Actually, this is the first some of us have heard of that motto and frankly we're a little disappointed in the people who wrote this copy. However, that does not stop us from continuing on with our demands to never be disturbed, whether or not there really is a boat, and regardless of the state of its rockage. This is how dedicated we are to our privacy.....
We understand that it may be hard for you to resist strong urges to invade our privacy. That is why we have set up a system of deadly magical rings which surround us and protect us with layers upon layers of fantastical magic privacy.
But I love the second trailer (especially the short scene with the two mantas). Wish the CTW trailers had the option to be played in Real Player instead of QuickTime (RP works so much better on my machine).
I think this is just a "fun" site, and might offer "fun" puzzles that mirror or mimic CTW, but not a full-fledged game of it's own. However, it will be fun to keep an eye on it to see what else they offer.

Chasing The Fish is now one ahead in the Trailer department over Chasing The Wish...the competition is neck and gill.....here's what they wrote in the update area...
February 11, 2003
Was forced to add Trailer #4 at 'request' of the International House of Ninjas (IHN). Once released, immediately drank a beer. Got a phone call from the electric company, they want money. I said, "you want your money? You can find me at the International House of Ninjas." Drank one more beer then settled in for the night...
Ninja's ninja's everywhere, and not a piece of sushi to eat....trailer is cute...especially the end...

The Parody Site BEFORE the Game - What Genius! There is a familiar feel to this . . . after I stop laughing, maybe I can figure out who this is. *looks around suspiciously*
