Right here, the genuine transcript:

JJ Abrams wrote:
This is going to be really, really quick and unsatisfying.

I just want to say, I want a monster movie.
I want a great monster movie. I wanted a monster movie for so long. Well, ever since I got bored of LOST and started making up random crap on the fly for each new episode.

And, I was in Japan over a year ago with my son, who's eighty-nine,
and all he wanted to do was go to toy stores, so I know he's my son, not an alien pod-person. And we went to all these stores and there were still all these Godzillas everywhere, and whats better than Godzilla, besides Mr. T?

And I thought, we need our own monster, like we need a monster movie.

And I thought not like King Kong. I love King Kong. King Kong is adorable. And Godzilla is a charming monster. We love Godzilla
But I wanted something that was just insane, and intense.

And so we started making this movie, and we're making it for you right now, and it's almost done shooting.
And I watch dailies, and I'm more excited about the trailer itself than the movie.

I would say that we have six months before this movie comes out, it's a long time
And so, in the coming months, you're going to get a whole bunch of things:

You're going to get the real trailer,
You're going to get the real poster,
You're going to get to see the footage from the movie,
You're going to get to see a video of me dancing in LOST underoos,
And you'll get the real title
I don't give that today. But, I will give you today...

[Croud aaaawwwwwwwws!]

Oh COME ON! Please! You think we'd call it "Monstrous"? No.

We have something for you, which is that we have these posters that are made that are really cool. A series of four posters that everyones is going to get, and I hope you like those too, but if you want to buy one for your friends, it'll be $499.99 per poster.

I cannot wait for January. You guys are the greatest. I own your souls. Thank you so much.

Oh yeah, and the roar is the most important thing. Ethan Haas was right! Voltron, assemble! CTHULHU FHTAGN! *vanishes*

[Crowd: OMGWTFBBQ!1!!!!1!]

Heh heh heh...

New Years Eve. It features a drunken Abrams rocking it out to the oldies with the entire cast of 1-18-08 (including the monster, and the Statue).

That SO should be in the Bonus Features.

sorry to sound cynical, but i've been looking in to this craze way more than i had ever thought i would, and i never came across one bit of info in regards to abrams saying the roar is important, so i'm just highly curious as to its source.

It is. I read it somewhere around the second week in July when the movie was starting to catch more attention. I'm not sure exactly where I read it, but it was on a website. In the same article, Abrams or someone related to the film says that its a "sea creature."
I'd like to say I read it on Variety.com (could be misspelled)...
but I really don't remember. :-/
Now, I know to save everything I read about this film. O_O
So to answer your question, yes its documented.

The source for the article wasn't JJ Abrams; he/she was anonymous.

Quote:

"The source told Kirk the biggest clue of the trailer is in the line: 'I saw it, it's alive, it's huge.' [¶] The source also says the sound the 'creature' makes is another big clue. He says the creature is an organic, living thing."

My thoughts exactly. At the beginning I didn't even think to save the stuff we read about. We dissected then kept or threw away stuff. Now we have people asking us where we got it from and we don't have the sources. We've learned our lesson.

about VX

I dont think VX is inside of Slusho yet, I think whatever the deep sea ingredient is, was fine before the VX leak and for many years Slusho was harvested to a tasty beverage. After the VX leak Slusho scientists noticed the recent batch of the ingredient had changed somehow and once this news reached the higher ups the "executive" stepped down and took in Rob to take his place because the Slusho company was 100% sure that something bad was going to happen. Whether it was the companies downfall or a mutated beast. Rob may have known about the mutation in the ingredient and was confident in his abilities but he might not have known about the monster thus why he looked freaked out in the trailer.

longshot..........me thinking too much.

I did say "or."
I didn't remember who said it.
Long time, didn't remember.
But, you found it. So, there it goes.
But, since its an anonymous source
don't know how credible that is now.
:-/

Ah yes, now I remember.

I also remember Mr Kirk took a lot of abuse from AICN, particularly Moriarty, who ran an entire flaming column against him for stealing his work and not crediting him for it.

That's another story I have no link for... (sigh...)

I know what you mean.
What's the point of even posting anymore
if everything that's said will be questioned?
XD
[And I'm referring to what I've seen the days that I've lurked.]

I hardly post. I feel if I don't have anything valuable to say,
I should just stay out. :-/
But, I remember reading a lot about this movie in the beginning...
but I had NO idea that it would become this focused on and that I'd actually have to save these articles. lol
It's like school.
O_O

2 questions that I think have been overlooked- how was vx.swf found? And more importantly- don't you guys think it's quite interesting that other than the pics on 1-18-08.com that this is the only other thing we've found? Interesting....
