[OOG] Halo: Uprising

Making this thread to keep discussion about the comic in one place.
Almost certainly there's no connection to Iris, other than the general Halo story arc.

I picked it up and read through it... not too bad. Feels short, but then I haven't read comics for years Razz I picked up two, to keep one stored near-mint.

Apparently the next 3 parts will be released monthly - #2=9/26 (day after H3), #3=10/24, #4=11/21

And to answer a question I'm sure will come up, I couldn't find any glyphs Razz

The comic and graphic novels are great ideas, and I really, really hope that fiction will continue to come out of the Halo universe. It's so rich and potent for stories, long and short. It doesn't deserve to end, but it does deserve to live richly beyond the game series!

Oh, and there are some covenant frames with covenant language that can be decoded, but I'm sure the bungie forum guys are already on that if not already done.

People have attempted to decode it, but apparently it's either an updated version of the old code, or random gibberish.

i actually was pretty dissapointed with it unfortunatly - felt a little short, and honestly chief getting hit by a load of hunters and getting captured - cmooon, thats just wrong!

theres a good storyline going on, im just not pleased with the way its been implimented.

I thought it was a great kickoff to the mini-series. My only disappointment is that this was supposed to fill the gap between Halo 2 and Halo 3. I assumed this meant that the end of the fourth comic would lead into the opening of Halo 3. Cheif is captured though, and the next book in the series doesn't come until Sept. 26th according to Marvel.com. I'd like some resolution to the Chief's situation before H3 unless they plan for the game to open in the situtation that MC is currently in.

could very well be... I think that would be an interesting opening... though confusing for people who hadn't read the comic. Perhaps that could be covered in an opening cinematic... *shrug*. The 2nd comic is released the day after Halo 3, so who knows. Two different media - if their plots are to interact or cross over, then they'd both have to explain (in brief?) the events of the other before continuing... in that case, it's doubtful. bah.

yeah thats wat annoyed me - him surviving after 10 hunters had theyre way with him!

and also him gettin captured rather than straight out killed takes away from all the times in game when grunts scream "oh no the demon"

ah well there better be a good reason for capuring him rather than killing him!
