Szglas' Articles
what kind of code???

Okay, I'm a little stumped on what's coming up here. I have all of the articles...but remember...she said to pay SPECIAL attention to the ones from her Hungarian friend (Kovac/ her boss), right?

Should we not pay attention to her articles or the ones from friends not from Hungary?

Anyone posting or laying low until tomorrow's challenge?

Thanks, Katy.

According to my notes, only one headline was submitted by a non-Hungarian and that was "It's arrived: the feminisation of the net." which was shared by a "colleague in Grasse."

Just to put it all together - in case it will be part of the next puzzle

M. Szaglas says:
Quote:
Pay most attention to my fellow Hungarian's recommendations and read those headlines closely. Even a single letter there can be as valuable to understanding the mind of a great perfumer and fragrance business as single drops of lavender are to today's scent.

And the headlines so far & who they are from:

Wall Street Journal leaves a scent for advertisers - 'example of what's to come'

It's arrived: the feminisation of the net - colleague in Grasse

The Fragrance Foundation to Honor John Ledes - Kovacs

Sold down the river Rhine -- Kovacs

Forget the Calendar: The Beauty Is in 30 Days of Marketing - Kovacs

Sweating in Sarkoland- mszaglas

Elite take private jets to new highs - "boss in Budapest"

Global Essence in France - "boss" in Budapest

La mode de l'alcool chez les jeunes inquiète les autorités autrichiennes - Kovacs

Bronze Age perfume 'discovered' - mszaglas

Sensient Names New President and COO - Kovacs

Edited to add missing headline

Re: re:Szglas' Articles

Right, Paulette!

I looked up Grasse and interestingly enough it's a little place in France..."the parfum capital of the world"!

I'm just wondering if...like you said earlier in the thread...we're going to have to use letters from the titles of the articles and piece together our answer. I just wanted to throw out there that we may leave out some titles (like the one from the colleague in Grasse) because Szglas specifically mentions we pay close attention to the articles from his Hungarian colleagues. Just a thought...

Anyway, the challenge is posted at what time...it's tomorrow, right?

Thanks for all of the feedback! I love this game...and really enjoy being able to talk to people who understand what I'm talking about. I'm engrossed in this one!

By the way, I don't think you're starting with a game that's too difficult! It's a hard one for me...but I haven't played one in a while and I'm hanging in there. Just make sure you're checking in here regularly for trails you might have missed.

-Katy.

Kovacs...

RedHatty and Paulette:

I wonder who Szaglas means when she says:

Quote: I actually find this one myself few years ago. I showed it to him. He love it.

Is "him" Kovacs or her boss? Probably insignificant...

But, do you think Kovacs is her boss?

According to her myspace, Kovacs & co. is a compay she worked/works for

Szgls, SARL

I am sure that both the "boss" and Kovacs should be paid special attention to, the only question is what are we really looking for? If it is a letter from each headline - which one? first, last, something in-between? So far 1st letters make nothing, I need to double check, I may have missed one

Headlines

I'm not finding anything at this point either. It's driving me mad. Are we going to have to take these letters as code, too???

What do you all think?

My assumptions
I'm usually wrong, but sometimes things stick...

I think kovacs and her male boss are the same person. I also think "Kovacs" is his last name.

How common is the name "Kovacs" in Hungary? Is it like Smith or Jones? Also there is a director named Kovacs. Lazlo Kovacs, he's a Hungarian too.

As far as what time the next clue will be posted, they go up at midnight Eastern Standard Time.
