are we serious here? all of the official trailers no matter where you go online to watch them are exactly the same as the original we've all seen. this news station just played it with the sound channels altered is all. or was given a less thrilling version of the trailer from paramount. this definitely has zero to do with anything we are supposed to solve.
we're not even supposed to solve anything apparently. after 4 weeks of no new news, this turned out to be what? oh yeah, right, marketing.

As mentioned in the other thread , the HD versions of the trailer has 5.1 Surround Sound, which can be split into 6 different tracks. The guy that made that video used only one of the audio tracks, which is why you hear different things than when listening to all the tracks at once.
I have added all of the tracks as separate MP3 files on my latest post at CloverfieldClues.com .

I grabbed the audio tracks from the 1020p trailer and placed them into FCP, I got 4 tracks which give new clues into the audio. You can read about it more here: http://www.1-18-08.tv/2007/08/uk-trailer-an-1.html
One distinct thing I want to point out. In track 3, you hear more verbal exchanges between people on the roof. One male voice mentions someone named "Simon" and how "he's gotten all over it and think it struck something". Another thing I want to point out is that the man who yells out "I saw it..it's alive..it's" never finished that phrase in any of the tracks. You hear the "HUGE" portion added on track 1, which I found odd.

Presumably they grabbed it from their Temporary Internet Files folder on their computers.

That wont work. Only the HD versions of the trailer are going to have the 5.1 surround sound.
If you have Quicktime Pro, you can save it as a .MOV file. The 1080P version is 121MB.

T'k, I completely forgot about that option with Quicktime Pro. Wish I had Quicktime Pro.

Link to the sound bite in question.
I blasted my speakers. 100% sure he said "Shut it off", probably referring to the camera.
