Just another brick in the wall

I know, but it would seem kind of pointless in my opinion for the PM or author or whatever to go through all that work and take all of his time to blog a great, creative story with a supernatural twist, and make sure it was all consistent (so far I havent seen any mistakes), then leave it alone. I think something is going to resurface soon. Hopefully he's taking his time in order to craft a more interactive experience, like a new site he is going to eventually lead us to.

Or the PM is just stupid Smile

New post 08-27-07
Blue Prison

New post by Greg. They didn't find RF's family and didn't call the police (as if that's ever helped).

I don't know quite what to make of it, Greg talks about what I believe was a hallucination that mentions Mr. Tyler and refers to him as a weird little man.

RF told Greg that when he was asleep he became one of them and so RF attacked him with a hammer. Shocked Sounds like RF doesn't really want Greg around anymore.

Very strange, although RF could have had a hallucination of Greg as "one of them" since Greg had a hallucination of RF. Although it sounds corny, the forces that be are clearly trying to separate the two scientists, maybe making them lose their complete sanity in the process. The fact that they aren't laying on couches like vegetables prove they still have some sanity. One thing that I noticed though, it seems like Greg and RF only attack each other/go completely nuts when they have just experienced/have been inhabited by the darkness. It seems like the dark entities can only screw with their minds, making them vulnerable for perhaps possession. Very strange. I have a feeling the black liquid is going to play a part in this.

I noticed that comment too. I am starting to think that these "auditory" hallucinations were actually reality happening to them and they are blocking it out. They didn't see what is really happening but could hear it (Like they were hooked up to a machine and were coming in and out of conciousness) . Not that they are hooked up now but were at one point. Does that make sense?

What about the note that said:

Blue=Prisoner
Green = ?

Would green be "Guard" or "Captor" or "Policeman" then?

Or green could equal freedom. The driver of the green Camaro in the Sky Pilot post was seeking freedom from the city. The squatter had green ink, I think a squatter would be considered a free man.

sky pilot

i noticed in the sky pilot posting, that the driver who picks him up in the green camaro, said he doesn't like cities,

ealier on in the squatter, sammy and greg posting, he says, that his father didnt like cities either,

specifically he says,

My parents also lived out in the countryside when I was a child - mostly at the insistence of my father who had "spent too many years in cities".

this driver in the green camarro, has he been in mentioned in any other posting, anyone noticed ?

The only other posting about the driver, (and Greg was uncertain as to whether it was the same person or not) was the guy in the green muscle car at the gas station in the Blue Prison post.

I thought it was interesting that the home that RF sent his wife to was even farther out in the wilderness than his own home. I wonder if it was his father's home? Greg said it felt like home to him as well. Wasn't there speculation earlier about Greg & RF being brothers or twins? I might be thinking of another story, but it seems like it was this one. I'll try re-reading the blog and see what I can find.

Quoted from entry 19 post

Quote:
They told me that if I truly believed my family was in danger, it would be best to send them to relatives in a safe place. I'm doing just that. My wife and daughters are being sent to live with people I can trust in another state.

Where are the family members who live in the house? Would Sammy have taken everybody?

could this be literal, i mean literally they (?) gave this man a new body, implanted his mind in someone elses body (RFs), like some sort of parasite almost, which the host knows nothing about, but this person can come through in sleep and live his life, leaving the host (RF) with half remembered memories of what this other person inside him has done

my point being that the persons above could be one and the same, and are recurring throught the postings, him/they seem to be watching him, maybe even looking out for him

Ok, I think this has been something we've been overlooking, but I havent really noticed anyone recalling the original catalyst Dermot, surely the company thats after RF and Greg would also try to attack him? Have you guys established whether the squatter is good or bad? He did say "Don't go that way" when they originally found him and it turned out to be decent advice. What do you guys think?

Also, (may be irrelevant) has anyone read "Johnny Got his Gun" Or "The Sun Also Rises?" The books found in the squatters residence? I've read "The Sun Also Rises" and its a story about a group of friends leading a bohemian lifestlye, I dunno, but squatters reading this caliber of literature are to be noticed, didn't they say the test subject had an IQ of 192? That would explain it, maybe the squatter is the test subject Dermot and he was "squatting" to avoid any further attention, yet that leaves why he screamed a mystery...

Alright, I've decided to reenter the world of ARGs with this little mystery we've got here. I'm really liking the writing style in this game. As for all the strange similarities between movies and games we've seen before, I'm with you all. Especially Endrspkr, who mentioned Identity. I completely agree. Some of the memory problems also remind me of a French film called Le Moustache that was quite enjoyable. I see that I'm pretty late jumping here, but I hope you guys don't mind!

Anyway, getting back on track here, I'm going to go thru the blogs again and compile a list of items/people based on their association with color. As Greg's last blog entry suggested, RF is already drawing connections between roles and color, maybe we can help it along.

Finally, RF has his version of events up on the blog.

Oh and PS…do we have a chatroom set up for this yet?

THEORY
Putting some pieces together

Unlurking again, but taking the pieces from the beginning:

1) RF's video showed the Red King was able to take thought and translate it to electronic media. (Giving the credit to the Red King, and not the machine, for now.)
2) Per a previous post (jjason back on page 2), Tweedledee and Tweedledum tell Alice in "Though the Looking Glass" that the whole story, including Alice, is just the Red King's dream.
3) Several references in both R.F.'s and Greg's hallucinations about being restrained or paralyzed.
4) "Johnny Got His Gun" is about someone devoid of outside stimuli, physically unable to move, and left only with his own thoughts and dreams.
5) In the video, the last few frames seem to show the figure without arms. (A weak supporting point, admittedly.)
6) Greg's last post has him hearing voices clearly from people who he can't see.
7) And, for me, a "clincher": Sammy. Both R.F., Sammy, and the voices in Greg's last post confirm that Sammy is a physical therapist. Which makes one wonder; why would "dream research" require a physical therapist on staff? Maybe because the subjects were "dreaming" for SOOOO long that they developed muscle atrophy?

So I'm putting my $0.02 on a "Matrix"-like situation; R.F. and Greg are still strapped to a gurney somewhere. Which would make the Red King a Neo-like figure...

EDIT: Posted before reading the last post, but I think this helps reinforce this theory. Especially R.F. seeing the "thing" with no arms and legs on the couch, which becomes Greg. Maybe seeing Greg in his true form?

In fact, maybe the pictures Sammy sent to R.F. are the actual, real-life pictures of him and Greg?

EDIT the second: A few other supporting points I forgot:
- In the "Another Early Post" on the blog, R.F. details the email from who we now know as Sammy. Quote:

Quote:
She took it all away. It wasn't her fault. . . she was a victim too. She broke you. Don't you remember how hard it was for him to breathe? He was sick. The hospital. A slick road. You were drowning in it. Little Boy Blue lost. You were drowning in that black mud. Why didn't anyone help? You were screaming for hours and when they finally found you and they fixed you but they broke you. They took you into darkness and gave you a light of their own.

You're making it worse. You're a sideshow freak. I tell you this every year. Don't you remember my phone calls? Don't you remember me? I'm the only person who's ever looked out for you.

So, R.F. gets in a car crash in which he's severly injured, drowning in black mud (matching the black stuff he keeps seeing), and somehow ends up at the Red King project. Through what they're doing, they keep him alive (a la "Johnny Got His Gun"), but w/his mind tied into the machines. And Sammy, being the guy who has to come manipulate what's left of R.F.'s body to avoid atrophy, becomes "the only person who's ever looked out for you."

EDIT part 3, in 3D: Realized that my username and the Twitcher are uncomfortably close. No, I'm not the PM; been using twitch14 as a handle since the Compuserve days.....
