[QUESTION] Poster detail
Yeah answer it!

So I have been here for quite some time and don't post at all really, just snoop around and see if anything new is coming up for this movie.

But I did have a question...if you look closely at the poster released for the movie, you can see that where the SOL's head is ripped apart, there are numerous particle formation around it as if the head was just ripped and the metal/wood splinters are falling towards the water.

Its as if the monster was in the water and just ripped it apart while you see destruction ahead of you, in the mainland.

Now is it me or is it just some minor detail that the publicity team didn't really care about?

Edit: Tagged and clarified topic. -SpaceBass

the poster is just an artist rendition and the sequence of events is not in order, the wake of the monster is still in the water, but the sun is rising. my best guess is that they did this just because it makes for a really cool looking poster

Time in a bottle

We talked about that a while back here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20364&start=195

I don't think the poster is particularly capturing a single "moment". I'm not a physics expert by any means, but I think the consensus is that there was a great deal of artistic license taken when making this poster. The speed necessary for the particle formations to be hanging in the air, the wake to still be in the water, and the explosions and destruction of the city beginning with helicopters already on top of it would be incredible.

It just looks cool...for lack of a better word.

What happened is that the events of 1-18-08 occurred and then the beast left. Engineers quickly rebuilt the head, and this is a screenshot of the beast's attack on new york, round 2.

This is sarcasm btw if anyone can honestly read this as truth.
