enochonline 9.26

Today's update is there. In addition to a gaming commission badge photo for a David Hayball, there is some sort of "tunneling tool" that allows you to see a picture of the real David Hayball if you enter the password "avar!ce." Apparently the real David died in August of this year.

Also, to file in the "wha?" category, none of the header images on enoch are flash anymore, they have all been changed to static JPG and GIF images.

enochonline header is now static.

Knowing nothing about building and adding a website, is it static now and will go back to animation later while they add/subtract more? I know it was static one other time because I right clicked and downloaded it sometime early last week. Then, couldn't do it again. Wonder if they take it down to change it? Or is that necessary?

They shouldn't *have* to put a static image up to change the flash, they could just update the flash image and then switch it...but you're right, that *could be* why the Flash is down. We've seen the Flash animation change slightly before, so I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again.

I think they took the flash down because too many people were getting IE crashes.
I know I had a dozen yesterday, looking for the morse, the braille, and the stephen king quote.

I saw a few complaints on the yahoo board, and that was just a glance, wouldn't be surprised if there were dozens more.

Thanks Sap, I'm breaking in a new computer here and I've been looking for reasons for those crashes, assuming that they were on my end. Good to know that I can relax now.

I wanted to mention a glitch I caught at enochonline last night, right around the time it was being updated.

When i loaded the page, i noticed that the navigation index on the left had *two* entries for Dialectic. Clicking the 2nd one gave me a banner with a broken image box where the name with the morse code should have been. The alt text for the image was "surveillance". Dagnabbit, i forgot to get the properties to catch the name of the missing piece. But this image is still available for them to reference: http://www.enochonline.com/swf/header5.swf

In a totally unrelated bit of HTML glitchery, the ABC site has a typo in their summary for upcoming episode 4: instead of the code for a long dash (—) they inserted (&$151;) and it is visible like that -- bound to cause hearts to skip a beat when they see that dollar sign.
