I found Beth on My Space and I'm trying to hook up with her. When I was searching about her on the Internet I found that psychic vision about New York being attacked. Everyone called it a movie trailer, but it can't be a movie because it DOESN'T HAVE A TITLE! Duh...

I must have missed the discussion about that - what is this 'psychic vision about New York being attacked' that you refer to?

The trailer. Sorry, it was a bad joke that...

even if this isn't an ARG, arguing about is even more retarded than believing it is. If people want to follow this as a game, let them be happy about it.

So this isn't an ARG? Well here you are, posting in a Forum for ARGs, and one for this movie...so who are you trying to convince?

Someone thinks he's the internet police.

If it's actually an ARG, then cool... awesome... it'll surely be a fun experience.

If not then why I'm here? I like the atmosphere here a lot better then IMDb which is only slightly more intelligent then the TalkBack sections at Aint it Cool News.

this is an ARG, its in an alternate reality
i doubt a monster is going to attack NYC like THAT on 1-18-08...
wait....shit...that'd be the best marketing for them >_>

Well, it may be alternate reality, but it sure isn't a game. I think that's the deciding factor here.

But, it doesn't really matter, no matter how many (and boy, are there a lot) of these threads people put up, nobody is gonna stop trying to figure out the answers. Technically, I never even really "played", I just rode the news/speculation wave. Hey man, I'm just here for the ride. Cool

Stop treating it like one. The tracking of photobucket accounts, the whois searches, and all the word jumbles don't apply here, because this is a VIRAL MARKETING camgain, NOT an ARG.

So stop making threads about that sort of stuff.

well before i beleived and still beleive just like him by trying to tell you all that this isnt a ARG but a few weeks ago i gave up saying that crap of making you all beleive. so if you cant win them join them anyways the ending of these 5 months is always going to = a good monster movie Wink

 Maybe not an ARG -yet..

... but that doesn't mean that J.J. hasn't got plans for just such a venture - there will be long, dreary, gray days ahead in the next few weeks, and what better time to 'get the SOL head rolling' (so to speak) then that time..? Cool ...

I think that it might turn into an ARG, but so far it seems to be more of an ARE (Alternate Reality Experience). It seems to have more in common with the "Heroes" 360 experience than it does with other ARG's that I've seen. In the Heroes 360 experience, you can check out Claire's (the cheerleader) mySpace page, Hiro has a blog, Hiro's dad has a web site (www.YamagatoFellowship.org), etc. But, you never know, this could turn into a game. I guess time will tell.

More then likely it will due to the scale of it

I always liked the idea of it mainly being an extended experience, and then a full blown game after the film leading to a sequel. Then again, I won't complain if it starts before hand...
Wow, imagine how noisy it'll be when it actually DOES start compared to now. I've been lurking through some of the smaller games, and I can't fathom the chickens w/out heads running around if this big one moves as fast as some of those.
