Well crap.
I've looked at every hint on this thread and I STILL can't solve the Da Vinci red chaulk drawing.
Someone just give me the answer....
I'd rather live in the shame of cheating than have to look at that face again....

EDIT:
Thanks, Tipsila and silentdream for helping! Very Happy

Could you be more descriptive of where you are? The hint "the band below" doesn't seem to have any meaning to me (maybe its just the early morning hour Confused ). Use a spoiler if you need to.

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with The First Door. This thread is for the game torment at
http://www.grngecko.com/torment.html

Did you, perhaps, post on the wrong thread?

I can anagram COUNT DOWN from the letters you provided.

My theory is that Torment was largely set up to lead people to this cipher. I think he's pretty proud of the block puzzle and wants someone to crack it, and was disappointed that no one cracked it at the geocaching site.

Or he's just sadistic and enjoys putting up a bunch of letters with no solution. Wink

Anyway.. I'm thinking we need to make a list of what we've tried so far on the blocks.

At the very least it might inspire us to try something new.

That list has existed now for a while and it has not helped much.

OK, I shared the fun (misery?) with my friends at Tweleve.org and several of them have now joined me at the blocks.

I have also started a separate thread "Torment: the blocks" to discuss our attempts at the blocks and to throw ideas out at each other to see if any of us can get past this wall. Greengecko has found us there and has stopped by to torment us in his usual cryptic manner.

Come and join our little group. You must register to read and post at Tweleve, but its a free and family-friendly forum. (If you'd like to help me beat a friend at the number of referrals he has received, that would be great, too; I'm "sslug" at Tweleve.)

Referral link to www.tweleve.org
http://tweleve.org/index.php?referrerid=26978

The thread can be found under Community: The Blunt Chisel: New Hunts and Rumors: "Torment: the blocks".
http://tweleve.org/showthread.php?t=22156

We are giving some serious effort to crack this puzzle. Hope to see you there.

You linked them directly to the blocks without making them do the rest of the puzzle? Very bad form, IMO. If greengecko sees that, he may be none too impressed.

greengecko has seen the thread, and he has posted to it a couple of times, as a response to an invitation by one of the members.

BTW, the link in my signature will also take you to tweleve via my referral code Laughing

No, no one linked anyone to any torment page but the start page.
After some of the others had reached the blocks, there seemed to be a need for somewhere to discuss the avenues we were attempting with that puzzle. PM's were rapidly becoming a difficult way to share information. We gave careful consideration before we started a new and separate thread.

Did you look at the set up? There are two threads there. One for game play, comments and hints up to the blocks page and a second thread for thoughts and discussion about the blocks and other unsolved things. Content very similar to the kinds of things posted here just not mixed together.

Greengecko has come (at the invitation of a player) and commented. He has not voiced complaints about our organizational system. In fact, he seems evilly delighted that more folks have joined the torment.

Red River
Need a hint for the passphrase

Ok, I know what the letters are written in, what they translate to, what the final wording of everything is. I know who wrote it, etc, etc, etc.

I know more about that damn page than I thought I could.

However, I can not figure out the actual passphrase.

Anyone up for a hint?

I tend not to see the trees for the forest. Wink
