[SPEC] Star Trek, the Professor [& Marty??]

I have to admit, the Professor is quite the pop culture addict. So far we've been slammed with Quentin Tarantino and The Phantom of the Opera references. But intermixed has been some subtle(?) references to Star Trek.

These are the references I can remember off the top of my head
1. Who Watches the Watchers (ST: TNG)
2. Grand Nagus (DS9)
3. Encounter at Farpoint / All Good Things (Q) (ST: TNG)

I dont know what it means, but in each of these posts he makes a mention that we should either see the episode, that the reference is the key or in response to us still not finding the answer to his puzzle. Maybe there is a larger picture we need to consider with the Star Trek references. I'll admit, I don't see it yet, but I might start perusing this angle.

As for Marty's name in the topic subject, this is from the ideltech website:
Quote:
Living in Amboy has never made Marty happy so he is moving to a condo in North Portland . Marty has a Doberman guard dog. In his spare time he tends Star Trek conventions, collects comics, and tends his NRA committee meetings.

Is the Professor trying to tell us something about Marty? He's the only other person we know who likes Star Trek. Or does he have another agenda? Why use Star Trek references in chats if he's trying not to attract TOBI? Marty was a main influence in getting TOBI where he is today.
Quote:
When the three founders of Ideltech found out during a project for college, all they had created was an "every day" search engine, they decided to put a little of Marty into TOBI.

It's entirely possible that Marty programmed some of his interests into TOBI - which means it's not out of the realm of possibilites that TOBI knows more than a little about Star Trek.

I'm gonna try to explore this Star Trek angle a little more since I'm personally at an impasse with the source code puzzle. If anyone has another other thoughts, please let me know.

Another posibility: with all this discussion about someone hacking Professor's account... could it be Marty? Thaat would explain the star Trek references

Has anyone considered the possibility that it is TOBI who is impersonating people? At the moment we know very little about TOBI, I've been assuming that he/she/it is, is becoming or will become a selfAWARE AI.
