alright....listened to it. unless something else could be done....what i have no idea....it seems like its just a plain ol roar. if thats all it is.....kinsa weak. it would've been cool to put some sort of secret in there but who knows maybe some 12 year old prodigy will figure something out from it. anyways though....the jpg versions would be cool but dont worry, i'm not adding effects or anything. thanks for everything......

It'd be nice if someone skilled in Fourier transforms could use a scriptable audio editor to try to decompile this sound into what is surely several sounds overlaid to make the roar. In a very simple stab at it, I loaded the roar into Audacity and tried a basic trick used mostly to remove vocals from songs, where you remove anything in the stereo 'image' that is panned to center. The result is that virtually nothing in the roar sound is panned to center, and it would seem nothing used to make the roar was mono. To my ear, I hear a stringed instrument being drawn in an assonant way and a gong. Other components I can't define as yet.
My suspicion is that a real animal, maybe more than one, has been used in the generation of the roar. I suspect said animal(s) contribute to the form of the monster in question.

Of course, it could just be Barbara Streisand and Liza Minelli spliced together.

it probably is an amalgam of animal and other noises, the last part of the roar sounds very much like the throaty gurgle made by a large croc or aligator.
have a listen to these aligator sound files down the wiki page

Whales?

I think one of the animal splices is a whale. In fact, I'll but some damn good money on it. Go to: http://www.whalesounds.com/home/index.html and when you get to the menu select "warbling" and listen for a good long while. There are points where it really sounds a lot like the roar. A wicked lot. If the roar is important, then this might be part of a clue. Hey maybe the bloop is even involved in that noise.

P.S. Warbling Whales are kinda scary.
