I looked up "doff" and it's defined as:

Definition of doff (verb)
forms: doffed; doffed; doffing
take off

Sounds like this guy thinks a lot of Queen Elizabeth....and her Hungary Water. Not sure if there's anything more here.

doff is a quasi common word used in England-- especially Shakespeare

Sofie, what in the mp3 made you find that page, Maybe there is something else there, we're not paying attention to.

Sure...well first, kudos to ncfriend for figuring out the www.linkedin.com. I'm already a member of linked in, so I kind of knew how it worked. Here's what I did to find the Barnes K page:

1.) I used the 'People' tab on Linked In to perform an Advanced Search
2.) I used keywords 'Perfume' and 'Hungary'...with a ";" in between
3.) I searched only for people w/ the location of UK (b/c of Mime Man's MP3)
4.) I searched only for people w/ the industry of 'Cosmetics' (again, b/c of Mime Man's MP3)

And voila....Barnes K was the only result returned.

i'm not so sure linkedin is the right place. if it is, we're sure not getting anywhere with Barnes K. I've tried every version of Barnes K, and even "owner" hahahahah. i notice that Barnes K has "three connections" but i'm unable to see who they are.

Cursing Bang Head

oh well... i've got some errands to run... be back later to work on it. (hopefully with a clearer head)

Mime Man

on mime man's recording, he mentions Queen Elizabeth of Hungary and the beginning of THE KEEPERS...I just looked back at szaglas' myspace and in her "about me" her great great great...uncle worked for the queen.

Quote:
About me:
Szia - Madame Szaglas here. I am master fragrance designer from the country that invented modern perfume – Hungary. I do not have many opportunities to leave Hungary, but I love other cultures. That first perfume my great great great ... uncle made was called Hungary Water and I like to think of it as more even than perfume. It has mystical powers for healing ailments and adjusting personality.

I am come from a family of master perfumers - my ancestor on my mother's side was the personal perfumer of Queen Elizabeth of Hungary. Since then, we have worked with many other men and women of influence to create the most exquisite and seductive of scents.

I wonder if there is a way to find a family tree...
Melissande's blog said that we have to look higher..

Has anyone been able to get more info from the LINKEDIN website?

Hi everyone!, Hey I just joined linkedin with a free account, and my searches are restricted to people in the US. Does anyone know how to change that setting or would i have to pay to do a search in other countries. Thank you Smile

i know that you can pay to upgrade your linkedin account, but as far as not being able to see people in other countries i dont know. i havent paid to search other countries and i did try to search for jb cosmetics in the uk and i didnt have to pay. as far as i know the upgrade that you pay for lets you contact/email someone that isnt in your network. i am very new to linkedin, like today, so not sure!

found this article on perfume. it was under the defintion on the weikia site. dont know if i spelled that right.

Perfumed gloves became popular in France and in 1656, the guild of glove and perfume-makers was established. Perfumers were also known to create poisons; for instance, a French duchess was murdered when a perfume/poison was rubbed into her gloves and was slowly absorbed into her skin.
