This clue at first confused me - it is not a cabinet handle or a screw or anything like that. It would be a different type of hardware such as a

computer printer

I would rather give the clue:

it is used in making a tatoo

Good luck

You may want to "take another look" at this clue we had previously. It will be a great help in solving today's clue (clue 42).

Edited: Just a note - there are 5 clues to solve once you get there. This will take awhile.

Edited: OK, got the answers to all 5 clues, but can't get the answer box to take it so I must be putting it in wrong.

I have tried it every which way - with dots, with caps, without caps, without dots; still won't go in. Tried clue 2 numerous ways too.

If you get it will you give me a clue please?

EDITED: We don't have to use a pound sign do we????I don't know where that is on my computer!

It is very similar to Clue 36.

Golden jigsaw gave us the first letter as being an "I".

It is used

and... the game is on hold until the 20th, with numerous changes and updates, including, but not limited to, the announcement of the current prize pot of $10,000 (by the new rewards layout) "rising to a potential $180,000"... no longer will anyone win $1M =P
And this, supposedly mainly due to the fact that they've been donating and been asked to donate many pieces to fundraisers and charities and such... like Tim Campbell's (The Apprentice) Bright Ideas Trust.

The email announcement, for reference...
the email wrote:
Today I have some important news.
Firstly, may I say thank you very much for your support and participation in The Golden Jigsaw. When the puzzle first started we asked for your feedback and huge numbers of you have done just that.

Lots of players said that the game was taking too long to play and it was too time-consuming & complex. So we're altering the format to make the puzzle easier to solve.

We've also been contacted by a great number of good causes such as the Bright Ideas Trust. The Trust (founded by Apprentice winner Tim Campbell) asked if it would be possible for us to donate pieces to use their website. We are delighted to help Tim and others because we see The Golden Jigsaw as a great aid in educating the public about all sorts of important things you don't always hear about.

So, from Today the game will change.
It will be faster and easier to play. A new page will be added to the website to host the first 100 pieces of The Golden Jigsaw and we will be taking a break from issuing clues until 20th September, giving you plenty of time to catch up, get used to the jigboard software & place all the pieces.

When we return, we will issue full details on what you can expect from the game & the new, improved playing format. The prize fund has altered because we received a lot of requests from good causes asking if we could donate pieces to them.
It will be 50% of revenue from pieces sold, which currently stands at a guaranteed minimum of $10,000, rising to a potential $180,000.

An updated running total of the prize fund will be shown each Friday, telling you just how much you stand to win by completing The Golden Jigsaw.

The winner is now winners.
1st Prize is 50% of the prize fund
2nd Prize is 25%
3rd Prize is 15%
10% remaining will be split amongst the 5 runners-up.
Winners will be drawn at random from all participating players who complete The Golden Jigsaw before the closing date, which will be announced as the game progresses.

There are loads more enhancements to come, including software updates, added in-game features, additional daily prizes & a more user-friendly, fully upgraded website.

Best of luck!

"easier puzzles"? I'd say "too long" would have been more referring to the potential length of the entire game, not the solve time for each piece... make them harder! Get away from just anagrams... geesh

Game Delayed

I feel a tad bit mad. I put alot of time into this and the prize is changed from 1 mil. to 10,000.00. I don't know much about prize law, but I noticed that they have been advertising in press releases:

"The prize money is underwritten."

So what does that mean if prize money is "underwritten"? I would think that either it means:

1) they had no intention ever to sell enough pieces to complete the game to reach a million dollars, so they bought an insurance policy just in case they did.
2) Someone put up the money and now they are going to renig on it?

For example, here is a link - read the last sentence about the underwritten part:

http://www.pressdispensary.co.uk/releases/c991324.php

edited: Bruce, you got an e-mail? I didn't and there is no announcement on the website yet.
