[SPEC]Monsters emotion? just a guess, but listen to the roar,
http://youtube.com/watch?v=wqax6tNsc-o
that monster sounds seriously p**sed off, like the way I'd feel if someone knocked me over with tank fire or something.

doubtful that the news would report something as a roar with no other info if it'd been a reply to tank fire. The news would surely have been in the know about inner city tank fire already.

In conjunction with the explosion. I always thought the first roar sounded really sad. Like, there's some serious hurt going on. The second was more of an "Oh yea?", and the third being the "fine, lets go" cry, then cue the rampage.
I never really thought the monster caused the first explosion. I think that was a defensive strike by us(us being the government at whatever level, and the contingencies in place to protect us.) , which is why the military is there so fast. The government new about this thing's approach, I believe, and the first roar is the "Ouch!".
Edit: (Didn't wanna double post) My point being that the military, specifically National Guard who would be handling domestic defense, would probably launch something remotely before they got there.

Heh, nice...
But the male is the one that gets it's head bitten off during mating. If this monster was trying it with the SoL, it's got gender identification issues on top of the matter of inanimate objects.
Then again, I've seen a chihuahua go for a stuffed Taco Bell Dog...

This is where I was about to make a joke about her being French, but I actually kinda have a thing for French girls, so I had to stop...

And the Taco Bell Dog was characterized as a male and played by a female dog, so androgyny abounds.
It's a cruel world for confused beasts looking for love.
Oh and btw, to me the roar's emotion is inscrutable if we don't know what sort of creature it came from.

It's the collective roar of frustrated fans everywhere just wanting to get to the bottom of this!
Okay, I keed, but I, too, thought the first roar sounded a bit melancholy. Nothing more to add at the moment...
