Prizes?

I know a few other people have asked this to no avail...

But has anyone heard anything about the prizes? They only had a post about the first week winners...but what about all the other weeks?! And was anyone actually contacted for the first week prizes?

Thanks.

I got lucky and won one of the 350 Covet Gift Bags, and as far as I know, I haven't yet been contacted.

Also, on Barnesworth's blogs...what's with the numbers in parenthesis in the titles?

I think it has to do with moon phases...notice the graphics on the blog!

We may have to chart the moon!

the Holy Month

that's all I got so far ... still plugging away though.

It is an image of an islamic lunar calendar....I did the same thing you did...opened the source code and tracked back the images.

I think we may be looking for a constellation in the night sky---using the numbers in () as the altitude/azimuth along with the geographic coordinates of the cities listed and the time of day of the posting.

Or perhaps the moon phase for that day but that does bring in the numbers in ().....

Barnesworth is a sailor so this makes sense- he would know how to use a sextant.

i just have to comment on how impressively astute you are-- you rock paulette! Smile

That's about where I am...I'm also trying to remember my Astronomy course...

I'm also trying to find my star map...stop laughing...I'm not that big of a dork. I have it from the aforementioned Astronomy course. Cool

I have gone through and written down the names of the constellations appearing in the sky at that day and time....I hope this is right!

The profiles are found after logging in: click on the bar that has "home", "profiles", "crime scene" and "evidence room" i think...click on profiles.

I've just been watching on this clue because I've got a lot going on in real life right now, but just so I'm clear (since I've read the solving), we don't yet have a solve on this one, right?

If going solely by Dates, to get the Right Ascension, and the numbers in Paranthesis to get the Azimuth...Here are the Constellations that have stars within those parameters:

9/2 - 20.02 Budapest, Hungary: Hercules (North Declination) and Sagittarius (South Declination)

8/20 - 8.02 Oxford, England: Ophiuchus (North) and Serpens (south)

8/12 - 28.55 Weston-Super-Mare, England: Hercules (North) and Ophiuchus (South)

8/6 - 22.55 Bath, England: Hercules (North) and Ophiuchus (South)

8/5 - 21.55 Bath, England: Hercules (North) and Scorpius (South)

8/4 - 20.55 Nice, France: Hercules (North) and Scorpius (South)

8/2 - 18.55 Grasse, France: Hercules (North) and Scorpius/Libra (South)

7/30 - 15.55 Grasse, France: Hercules (North) and Scorpius/Libra (South)

6/30 - 15.09 New York, NY: Bootes (North) and Libra (South)

As an aside...Ophiuchus is the 13th "Zodiac" constellation, meaning that it falls along the ecliptic (the path the sun and moon, and all of the planets, Venus strays slightly, take across the sky). It is between Scorpius and Sagittarius.
