The password from the book is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

in the end pride is all negative space

I looked through the blogs we found for in the end pride

Entering it as a password leads you to the same place as does in the e .
Now when you talk to the ty-bot he says
Quote:

Now that's an interesting turn of phrase. You might be a bit ahead of yourself. Need a clue?

(at this point I will be generous with spoiler tags in case anyone wants to go and talk without knowing the answers)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I answer yes, and he says.

The first one involves the years. Did you get it?

I say yes, and he says.

The second one requires two different codes. I'll let you work out what they are. Need another hint?

I say yes, and he says
Well... I'm done talking. But like I said. That's an interesting turn of phrase.

If you instead talk to Brother Ajax,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Brother, do not talk to me on this line. It is insecure. You can find the verification code by examining each page on this site.
You will need the chapter code again later, so don't forget it.

Man, good job everyone! That will teach me to have a job. I go away for a bit and the game breaks wide open.

As for the codex...what am i looking at here? I'm having trouble reading this thing. I may go blind.

Secondly, has anyone tried opening up any of the pics on the squalor and dust page in notepad? (i'm a mac user, i'm guessing notepad is the right name of the program on PCs)

Great job. I'm much less worried we've headed in the wrong direction now. With such a long password, having

doesn't seem that much of a stretch anymore

soo, anyone got any ideas about the dust page?

Opening image 1 and 2 netted this in notepad, respectively.

Interesting...when you type the same phrase in to Ajax he says this:

You will need the chapter code again later, so don't forget it.

well, it was worth a shot. Thanks Adam.

When i look at the boxes, the remind me of these old computer punch cards that we used to use for craft projects when i was really young. Considering that the "meta" in the source on the Squalor and Dust page says "ROBOTS" maybe we're looking for some old punch card language?

I did notice that image one was horizontal while two was vertical.

Coninuing this pattern shows that it does continue, although 9 and a are both horizontal. b is vertical, c horizontal, and so on.

Now, of course, they're not all the same size, either, but maybe stretching the images, OR, placing same sized ones atop one another will work? (1 and a are the same size.) After all, there are 1-9 and a-i, for a total of 18. 9 in each group.

I think I'm onto something here, because 1-a are the same size, 2 and b, c and 3, b and 4, e and 5, f and 6, g and 7, h and 8 and i and 9.

Unfortunately, I don't have a photoshop program.

hmm, maybe we are all heading in the right direction with these images:

I dont have photoshop on this machine, but I did take 1 & a and threw them both in "M$ Imaging" (came standard with the box). Im not able to do more to them than move them around, but I noticed that the negative space of each is the opposite on the other image.

maybe where they differ... something is hidden.

b atop 2 reads "/"
c atop 3 reads "of"
d atop 4 reads "/"
e atop 5 reads "the"
f atop 6 reads "/"
g atop 7 reads "dead"

nice job Adam C! I was getting it to work in AutoCAD, but it was extremely slow and tedious. How did you get it to work?

as for what you found:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
is that westminster abbey? where dennis squalor is said to be?

fauxto has an option where you can open an image as a layer atop another one by simply checking a little box, was very fast

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
also, be sure to scroll down... looks like a picture of Vignere (thanks F!) all blurred up

great job.
The picture at the bottom of the page looks to me to be a blurred version of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Vigenere.jpg . Suggesting that we have a Vigenere cipher to solve. So we probably need a key phrase.

And it was really easy

westminser is the key and the solution is

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
and of course when you ask Ajax "What happened in apartment ten?" you get the url http://the-electric-church.com/the/end/is/near/friend.htm

Hope we don't get too far ahead.
